...

(Y/N)'s P.O.V

Hiccup grinned at me as we walked up to 'my' house, making me smile back before facing the door with a small sigh.

"Today was... fun. I mean, minus the whole you-almost-dying part," I say after a moment, making him scoff a small laugh.

"No kidding. Really could have done without that," Hiccup agrees, nodding and awkwardly looking around. "So... I'll, um... It was nice hanging out with you today. I-- I mean, it always is, uh-- and I was, you know..."

He trails off for a moment, making me tilt my head with a small smile. Hiccup clears his throat, seeming bashful as he kicks at a pebble.

"Yeah?" I softly urge with confusion as I smile, tilting my head.

Hiccup clears his throat once more, wiping his hands on his vest and keeping his eyes on the ground as his cheeks begin to turn pink. "I was wondering if you'd... You know... Um... would you, maybe want to--"

"(Y/N)," Astrid's voice calls, and we turn and see her jogging up the path to us. "I've been looking everywhere for you. I needed to... talk to you." She looks between us with a neutral expression, "Alone."

I lightly flinch at her somewhat bitter tone, glancing over at Hiccup. Hiccup seemed disappointed, visibly deflating as he frowns and rubs the back of his neck. He nervously looks over at me, clearing his throat and slowly backing away.

"Right, so I'm just going to... yeah. I'll-- I'll see you tomorrow, (Y/N)," Hiccup stammers before turning around, clumsily rushing away.

I smile and shake my head as he trips, barely managing to catch himself. He dusts himself off, looking around before disappearing from my sight.

"Listen." Astrid's sharp voice causes me to jump, her icy stare unwavering. "I just thought you should know..."

She pauses for a moment, her eyes darting down before she takes a deep breath, standing straight and returning her glare to me.

"There's no way you're winning tomorrow. I don't get how you and Hiccup made it this far, but it stops now." She hisses, the fist at her side clenched in fury. "I'm going to be the one to kill the Monstrous Nightmare. Got that?"

I was caught off guard by how cold and determined she seemed, though I should've been used to it by now.

"I--I..." I stammer, rubbing my neck as she raises a brow while crossing her arms. "... Okay."

Her glare falters.

"Okay?" She repeats in a tone of disbelief, slightly glaring at me.

"Yes. Okay," I repeat once more and shrug, sighing heavily. "I mean, I don't even want... I... I just... don't understand you."

I frown, shaking my head and looking at her with a genuine look.

"Why do you hate me so much?"

Astrid flinches, though it was barely noticeable. She casted her gaze down, a large frown stretched on her face before she looks back up at me.

"I don--"

"There she is!" A familiar woman's voice calls, making us both jump and look down the path.

"You're... back," Astrid trails off as I flinch, Hanna nearly tackling me to the ground in a hug.

"Oh! We've heard so much about you and Stoick's boy!" She gushes, making me grunt as she squeezes me tightly.

I look over at Astrid, wincing as she glares at me before rolling her eyes, looking away with crossed arms.

Samuel approaches, nodding at me with a neutral expression.
