A teenage Latina girl was standing outside her family garage, hesitant to go in. Julie Molina stood outside of the garage with tears threading to fall as she reminisced on all the memories that happened between her and her mother inside. Her mother, a skilled musician, used the space as a studio to write and play music, which Julie helped her with.
The memories plagued Julie as her mother had died a year prior, and it's been that long since she's been in the garage. Julie opened the doors of the garage, making wind hit her face. She walks in, goes over to the light switch, turns the lights on, and looks around the studio. Julie walks over to the piano and takes the white sheet off, exhaling shakily.
Julie walks over to the piano bench and drags her fingers along the top. On the bench, she notices sheet music with a journal lying next to it, and she picks them up, setting them on top of the piano. Julie sits down on the bench and sighs.
She inhales deeply and looks up, "I'm so sorry, mom. That I haven't been here."
She gets up from the piano and walks away from it. Julie looks up at the loft before going to the ladder. She climbs up the ladder and looks around at the random instruments. Her eyes glazed over the guitars, piano, and drumsticks. Julie notices the demo lying on the loft floor and picks it up. Before climbing down, she spots a journal that had the cover completely decorated colorfully. She also grabs the journal and climbs back down the ladder.
As Julie walks over to the CD player, she takes the CD out of its case. Once Julie reaches the player, she puts the CD in before placing the demo case on the machine. She walks over to the couch and sits down as the music starts playing. She lightly touches the teacup on the table before opening the journal, showing clothing designs inside.
