❣︎☠︎︎𐮙𐬻✫❥After talking with Julie and the boys being banned from her room, Beverly found herself on the studio's roof. Before the four had died, Beverly always climbed up to the top to think things through. To pull together her thoughts and even finish designs in her journal in peace.
Tonight, Beverly sat on the roof with her legs dangling over the edge, looking up at the stars. There weren't many from the light pollution in Los Angeles, but there was enough to see a few. Beverly sighed deeply, looking at the stars and thinking about everything.
About being a ghost with her brother and friends. The fact that Julie can see them somehow despite being ghosts. Wondering where and what happened to her parents. Even though Beverly and Alex had a complicated relationship with them, towards the end, they were still their parents. Beverly missed them despite their issues and wondered how they handled both their children gone.
"Hey." A voice said, making Beverly jump; turning, she found Reggie walking over to her. "Sorry."
"It's okay, Reg. What's up?" Beverly asked as Reggie sat next to her.
"I was wondering where you were, but then I remembered how you always came up here to think," Reggie said, shrugging.
"I can't believe you remember that." Beverly chuckled, and Reggie smiled.
"Of course I do. This is where you always came to finish your beautiful designs." Reggie said, making Beverly giggle. "They were always completed after you'd come up here."
"Thanks, Reg," Beverly said.
The two teens sat in silence, looking up at the stars. Reggie turned to Beverly, seeing her slightly smile as she eyed the stars. He ran his eyes up and down her face, taking in every detail. Seeing every freckle and every mole on the blonde's face that he learned to love so much.
"Reggie," Beverly said, turning to the raven-haired boy. "Can I ask you something?"
"Of course you can." Reggie nods.
"Is it true what Alex said earlier at the beach?" Beverly asked, and Reggie froze. "About you having a crush on me?"
Beverly looked at Reggie, who was staring down at his hands, which he was picking at. Quickly grabbing his hands to stop him made Reggie look up at Beverly.
"It's true. I do have a crush on you, Beverly. I have for a long time now. Longer now that we've technically been dead for twenty-five years." Reggie sighed, rubbing the back of Beverly's hand.
Beverly's breath hitched, learning that the guy she's been crushing on for years feels the same way. Beverly smiles before saying, "I have a crush on you too, Reggie. For probably just as long as you." Beverly said.
Reggie looks into Beverly's eyes, wanting to see if she is telling the truth. He didn't want to be disappointed if she lied to make home feel better. But looking into Beverly's bright blue eyes, he could see that she was being honest, which made his heart swell.
"You do?" Reggie asked, wanting to be sure.
"I do, Reggie," Beverly admitted with a big smile, making Reggie smile just as big.
"I really like you, Bev." Reggie smiled with the smile Beverly always swoons for.
Beverly smiled even brighter, "I like you too, Reggie."
"You have no idea how long I've been waiting to hear that," Reggie says, making them both chuckle.
The two look back at the stars in silence, both comfortable being with each other now. They had just heard that their crush liked them, and they couldn't be happier.
"When did you know that you liked me?" Beverly asked, breaking the silence.
Reggie looked at Beverly and smiled, squeezing their hands that were still connected. "If I'm honest..it was when five of us first hung out as kids," Reggie said, shocking Beverly.
"Really?" Beverly asked.
"Yeah. We were playing, and just seeing you smile and have fun just made me fall for you." Reggie said, making Beverly blush. Reggie rubbed circles around the back of Beverly's hand. "I know we were just kids then, but even then, I knew I wanted to be with you."
"That's...that's so sweet, Reggie," Beverly said, staring at the raven-haired boy with pure adoration.
"What about you? When did you know you liked me?" Reggie asked.
Beverly smiled, "It was when we were in middle school and...Billy Keener made fun of me for making my clothes thinking my family was poor. He made me cry, and out of nowhere, you came in and pushed him away from me and told me my clothes were beautiful." Beverly admitted.
"I remember that day. I hated seeing him make you cry and just had to do something." Reggie said.
"Seeing you just stand up for me. And my designs just made me see you in a different light." Beverly told Reggie, who squeezed her hand reassuringly. "Before, I admittedly only saw you as a friend, but I got older, and my feelings changed. And I'm glad they did because I would have hated to miss out on being with an amazing guy like you, Reggie." Beverly continued.
"I'm glad I was able to change your view on me. Or else this conversation would have been very awkward if it hadn't." Reggie said, and they both laughed at the thought.
"So...what now?" Beverly asked and shrugged. "Are we together? Or...?"
"I don't want to rush things. Even though I've been waiting for this day for my whole living and undead life, I want to take this one step at a time. Experiencing everything it has to offer." Reggie says, turning his whole body towards Beverly and her doing the same.
"I'd like that, Reggie. I want to experience everything it has to offer as well." Beverly smiled. "Also, let's not tell Alex and Luke yet. I want this to be just us for now."
"Anything you want, Beverly," Reggie said.
The couple turned back to the stars, thinking how lucky they were in that moment. To share the moment with the person they've liked for years. The stars would now be the constant reminder of the night they confessed to each other how they truly felt.
