I awoke to the sound of a baby crying. The world was pitch black and there was something heavy on top of me. What the fuck...? Where am I...?
Laying there for a moment, I tried grabbing my phone. My limbs had become entangled with the heavy object on top of me. Finally, after a minute or so, my eyes adjusted to the darkness.
"Billie...?" He tiredly hummed, "Hey... can you move a bit...?" He did as told. I grabbed my phone. The bright light hurt my eyes.
"Dude..." Billie threw a pillow at the light, but missed.
"Oh fuck!" I sat up, "I was supposed to see Mikey!"
"Too late now, huh?" He yawned.
"Fuck..." I laid back down, staring at the mass of texts from all four boys.
"Go back to sleep babe... the light is killing me..." I grabbed the pillow he had thrown and hit him with it, "Ow!" He threw one back. Quietly I laughed.
"Should I even bother messaging back?" Billie came closer and gazed at the screen.
"I dunno..." He yawned.
"Maybe I should go..."
"I guess I can take you..." But neither of us moved. He laid so close to me. He was so warm.
"Or maybe I can stay..."
"Please..." He murmured. I taped on the screen. Billie watched as I created a message explaining what had happened.
"They can wait until tomorrow..." Once I hit send I slid my phone away and stared into the darkness.
"Can I hold you?" He whispered.
"I don't mind..." He wrapped his arms around me and held me close, "Did you do this with your friends?" I yawned.
"Actually, yes..." We both laughed quietly. After a moment we both fell asleep.
I awoke only a few hours later. Billie was nowhere to be seen. Quietly, I got up out of bed and wandered out of the bedroom. I gazed out the doorway, looking for the boy. People were talking downstairs. None of the voices belonged to Billie, but I decided to head down anyways.
At the kitchen table sat who I assumed to be Billie's family. A younger woman sat with a tiny toddler and a baby. Some other boys and another older woman sat there, but Billie was nowhere to be seen.
"Hi," The young woman greeted.
"Oh shit it's Billie's new girlfriend." The boys began laughing.
"I'm not his girlfriend..." I sat down.
"Yeah, okay, sure..." The woman smiled.
"Hey..." I turned to see Billie standing beside me.
"Hi, there you are. Can you take me home?"
"Yeah, of course. C'mon," I got up and followed him outside and to his car.
"Who're all those people?"
"The boys are my cousins, the girl with the kids is my sister, kids are my nephews, and the older lady is my mother."
"You all live together?"
"Yeah..." He began, "It gets really loud..."
"My house is the complete opposite."
"How so?"
"I'm an only child... it's just me and my parents... and we're so quiet..."
"Must be nice..."
"It can be..." He pulled up to my house. My eyes went wide as I spotted Frank's truck in the driveway, "Oh god..." I put my face in my hands.
