In the next few chapters we will focus on some key points in the Dark Ages history. Before you begin to read this I warn you that one situation known as the Jerry Scare of 2015 will become inappropriate and vulgar at times so reader discretion is advised. One situation was called the Invader Situation. It began when a mysterious person, possibly from our friend group, added a multitude of people to the group chat. These people weren't unknown to us; some were friends and others were people that we barely talked to. Like us, they were all confused and annoyed that they had been put into some random group chat. Some left but were then added back for an unknown reason. Then they started creating new group chats (they created five at the most). This started to become annoying; after we all stopped texting, another person came back to ask what was going on. It finally ended when they all agreed to shut up and stop texting. Now that it was over, we had to find the person who started it. Kellen blamed Tyler and even showed pictures that showed Tyler adding people to the group chat. Tyler retaliated with a claim that Kellen was the one who added those people and that Kellen's framing him. This was not true but Tyler seemed to believe that it had to have been Kellen. Kellen said that this was false and they continued to argue over it. Tyler ended it with saying that Kellen photo shopped the whole thing and that he did not do it. Kellen said that it was ludicrous and tried to argue but Tyler had already left.

The next situation is The Brooke and Kellen Spam Wars. This all begins in the beginning of the Dark Ages with Kellen. For many months now, Kellen had regularly used the same phrases to start conversations with us. These phrases included meow, hello, hai, so what's everyone doing, and many others. One day, he became angry with us because we did not respond to his texts. He had been asking us where we were, what we were doing, and why no one was responding. He allegedly had private texted some us to find out our whereabouts. He decided that he had had enough after seeing that many of us were posting on Instagram. He claimed that we were ignoring him and that none of us wanted to talk him. My excuse for not texting was that I just didn't feel like texting because I was tired and had many better things to do. I knew that many others felt the same way but it didn't seem to be enough for Kellen. Kellen decided that he needed to calm himself down and would be gone for about an hour.

About a month later, Kellen was doing the same thing and Brooke decided that she had enough of his spam. She went on the group chat and told Kellen how she felt about his "spam". Kellen began to grow angry and told us that his heart was racing, his blood pressure was rising, and he was ready to throw his phone across his room. Brooke responded with "have fun with that". By this point, Dan had joined the conversation and told Kellen not to worry because Brooke is just being mean. The fight went on for a few minutes until they both just gave up and decided to leave the fight where it is. There would be more fights like this in the future but they were very similar in nature so there is no need to talk about them.

Our next and final situation is known as the Jerry Scare of 2015. I will repeat my warning in the beginning that this section can become inappropriate at times. Although I will censor some parts out, other will have to be left in to show the severity of this situation. Reader discretion is advised. Now this situation begins with Thomas (no surprise there). Thomas had been at a dance known as the Saint B's Dance (real name will not be revealed) and while there, he met a girl named Jerry. Yes, a girl, whose name is Jerry. They had hooked up and Thomas decided to tell Gwen about the whole thing in great detail. He private texted her explicit details about Jerry's breasts and other parts of her body that should not be mentioned. Gwen told us about this on the group chat and we automatically became disgusted at what we were reading. Someone had decided to add Thomas back to the group chat and he was bombarded with insults and names until someone had finally removed him again. After talking about it for a little while and letting out all of our anger for what we had heard, we decided to let it go for the time being.

About two-three weeks later, Gwen had put Thomas on the group chat and told us not to remove him. I suppose that it was some errant act of redemption that proved to be unsuccessful in the end. I suppose that I had accepted this but I knew that others such as Brooke would not let this happen. I was right since she immediately removed him. It went back and forth between adding him and removing him until Tyler came and removed everyone from the group chat. As I said before, Tyler has always been the troll. He found this quite funny and continued to do this on every group chat that existed and everyone that was created. Kellen had started to become annoyed and scolded us for not being good friends to each other. Tyler responded to this with removing him as well. Kellen scolded us once more and Tyler had responded to this the same he did before. Kellen had given up but Shelby did not. Shelby told Tyler that she does NOT get removed from the group chat but someone removed her anyway. I few other things happened between Shelby and Brooke that are not relevant to the Jerry Scare so I will not explain them.

This was where the real fight began. Thomas had insulted Dan and Tyler, being one of Dan's best friends, decided to retaliate.

Thomas: Sorry Dan, I forgot you can't close.

Tyler: Sorry Thomas, I forgot you got rejected. So shut you f***ing mouth.

Thomas: Tyler, who hooked up with someone at the Saint B's Dance?

Dan: (clapping emoji) you made out with a slut.

Thomas: Dan, are you calling Jerry a slut?

Brooke: *brings up picture of Jerry (not Gary) t from Spongebob* This is what I think when I hear that name.

Tyler: OMG I can't stop laughing!!

Thomas: You know she had big boobs.

Tyler: And you were touching your own chest

Thomas: Tyler you're just angry because you can't close.

Brooke: *continues to send pictures of Jerry the snail*

Thomas: F*** Brooke.

Brooke: No, f*** you.

The next part becomes a bit offensive and explicit so I'll end the argument here. Brooke removed Thomas and Tyler proceeded to call Thomas a fail. Shelby had left the group chat only a few minutes later and Dan asked for Tyler to apologize to Shelby. He never did but Shelby's perfect girl demeanor had been ruined. Although it is back today, we were all worried that it would never come back at the time. Shelby rejoined the group chat that day and the Jerry Scare of 2015 had finally ended. This whole situation served as a threat to the prosperity of the group chat. If the fight had continued any longer, the group chat would have ended that day. But, like the other situations, we overcame it and moved on.

Situations such as these have never left our memories proving that the group chat's Golden Age was being revived. Despite the ups and the downs, the group chat prevailed until the end partially unscathed. We still carry the scars of these many situations but we look at them as horrible remembrances of a dark time. Some theories for why the Dark Ages occurred range from a lack of excitement in the school year to Kellen's entry in the group chat. I personally believe that we became careless and we hadn't realized how good we had it during the summer. Instead of looking at the group chat as a blessing and a chance to all talk to each other, we saw it as a nuisance. And with Kellen being the only one left who looked at the group chat with zeal, we began to see him as a nuisance as well. I share no opinion on Kellen but I suppose he had some role to play in extinguishing the fire of the Golden Age. But the Dark Ages are behind us and as we approach closer to high school, we begin to enter the Renaissance.
