Around 30 minutes and 10 redone braids later, I sat in the hands of Barbatos' statue, having clambered to the top, oblivious to Barbara's frantic and panicked shouts.

I sat munching on a Fisherman's Toast. Sara never failed to impress and today was no exception as the taste was just a hundred times better.

Suddenly feeling a familiar swish of breeze behind me, I let a small grin slide onto my face. I picked up the apple that sat beside me and tossed it into the air. Just before it fell out of reach, a hand reached out and caught it.

The smile on my face only grew as my voice became smoother and more teasing, "Hello, Venti. Or should I say..."

"Barbatos."

I turned my head to see Venti sit beside me. His green clothing seemed brighter than usual in the cool summer-morning light and his beautiful green braids swayed with the gentle breeze that followed him wherever he went. He quickly caught his hat before it was blown off his head before looking at me with those kind, teal eyes of his.

"Please tell me you weren't going to waste such a beautifully ripe apple," Venti says in an exasperated voice, his brow crinkling.

I look ahead, a playful smile tugging at my lips, "Of course not," I stifle a chuckle, "I knew you'd catch it."

Looking seemingly lost for words, Venti sighed and took a bite of the apple, smiling when he realised I'd bought the sweetest of today's lot.

As he ate, my eyes drifted to his hands. His nails were black. That's unlike him, I thought, he's usually not that fond of black. Venti's eyes followed mine and from the look on his face, I could tell he guessed. what I was thinking.

"Like them Windblume? I decided to switch things up a bit today and well-"

Venti's voice faded out, and so did my concerns as I heard him say that.

It was his nickname for me, and I loved when he called me that.

'Windblume.'
