Guys—3K?! THAT IS SO AMAZING! This is the first time one of my stories has gotten this much love and I am so appreciative for it. You all are so amazing and thank you for choosing to read my story, it makes me so happy! 😊

As for the next chapter, apologies for how long it's taking, first week of college has given me very little time to write and plan for the second half of the game, so I decided to give you guys something to tide you over. In light of Spooky Season creeping up on us, here is a Halloween special! :D

(Oh yeah, NSFW content is in this. Not too explicit but still NSFW)

"What is this?"

Liyanin was examining a mask—a mask of a very unfamiliar creature. Neteyam bent down next to her, taking a closer look at the item in her hand. His eyes lit up upon seeing it better, recognizing what the item was.

"Ah, this!" he exclaimed as he reached over Liyanin, touching the mask. "These, are masks that Sky People wore."

Upon hearing this, Liyanin threw the item instantly, not wanting to touch something that belonged to the Sky People. This made Neteyam chuckle, getting up to go retrieve it.

"Liya, I got this from one of the good guys. They made it to fit my head."

"...still..." she sulked, wiping her hands on her clothes. He then turned to her, putting the mask up to his face.

"They wore these during a celebration called, Halloween." he explained, speaking to her as if he were a storyteller. Her brows furrowed at the mentioning of this word, not understanding.

"What the heck is that?" she deadpanned, still wary of the mask.

"A time where the supernatural is at its high, lurking around corners—the dark..."

Liyanin still could not understand. "...things...like me?"

Neteyam now dropped the mask, his head tilted in thought. He pursed his lips as he looked up at the ceiling, trying to figure out how to answer this. "In...in a way. But the main point of the celebration is to dress up."

"Dress up? Like formally?"

"No, no," he shook his head, now sitting in front of her. "They dressed up as other things, other creatures. Even other people."

"...so, it is a celebration where you do not have to be yourself for a day?" she concluded. Neteyam thought for a second before nodding in agreement.

"Yes! In a way..." he laughed out. She let the thought settle in her mind, liking the concept of it. A day where she could forget all her duties, have more leisure. Neteyam saw her face which was content in the thought and knew what she was thinking. He then grabbed her hand, interlocking their fingers. The action had caught her off guard, but nevertheless she still smiled. "A day where we can forget our responsibilities..." he said.

"...that would be nice." She let out as he kissed her hand.

----------------------------------------

Liyanin was lying down, staring up at the ceiling. Her mind was still stuck on the celebration Neteyam had told her about.

A day to dress up as something else...well, if I had to choose...

She thought of elegant things since she has a favor for that kind of style. She had a hard time thinking, but then she remembered a story Neteyam once told her about these creatures back in the forest called lortsyal (shimmyfly). He described them as shiny, translucent creatures that were graceful in the way they travelled about the area they were in.
