Merry Christmas 🎁🥳

"Gahh!! We can still do it...!" Tuk shouted upsettingly.

"With what people, Tuk? It's a gift exchange," Lo'ak explained, annoyed with her whining. "...also, there's no Santa."

"Do we really need a Santa? It's not like he was ever real..." she said, her bottom lip slightly sticking out.

"Yo!" a familiar, booming voice called out. Both of the siblings turned their heads towards the noise to see who it was, their eyes finding that of Wekyu's. Lo'ak, knowing the boy more than Tuk, was the only one to get up and greet him with a smile.

"Oh, what's up?" the smaller boy said, tapping Wekyu's hard shoulder. He has such a great physique but he's still my age! Well, Neteyam's age...

"Nothing much, just hiding from Duräley..." he then bent down to Lo'ak's face so he could whisper. "...I think I may have gone too far this time."

"What you do this time?"

Instead of giving an answer, Wekyu laughed sheepishly, scratching behind his ear. It was at this moment his eyes fell onto a little girl who didn't have much to say. He took a small step forward, wanting to carefully introduce himself.

"Hi there, I'm Wekyu, one of your brother's friends." He said, pointing at himself and then Lo'ak. Tuk, being nervous, looked between the bulky guy and her brother, but eventually mustered the courage to speak as well.

"I am Tuktirey...but everyone just calls me Tuk...except Liyanin for some reason..." she said, beginning to wander off in her thoughts. Wekyu could see her dazing off, which made him laugh. His voice was so strong, the power of his chortle shocked her out of her daydream, making her blink multiple times. Lo'ak snickered to himself at this, finding the interaction amusing.

"Well, what were you guys doing before I crashed?" Wekyu asked Lo'ak, standing up now.

"My sister wanted to celebrate this tradition called 'Christmas' we usually did back in the forest, but we can't cause we don't have the things we need."

Wekyu's non-existent eyebrow rose in confusion, his fingers on his chin. "...this is certainly news to me. Tell me, what happens in this, 'Christmas'?"

Tuk did not hesitate to explain. "It's one of the best celebrations ever! Everyone gets gifts from this one guy named Santa, even though he isn't real, but that doesn't matter because it's really just one person getting the gifts for everyone so everyone is happy with the one item they wished for! Or two! Or three! Also the gifts are wrapped and delivered at night so it's like a happy surprise!"

"In a nutshell." Lo'ak finished. Wekyu took everything he heard in, listening deeply the whole time. He kind've surprised Lo'ak with the look on his face—it was so serious. Lo'ak began to wonder if Wekyu was actually thinking this heavily about Christmas.

"Wekyu?"

"...this seems important to you guys, yes?" he asked.

"No—"

"—yes!!" Tuk shouted over her brother, a glimmer of hope in her eyes. She could tell Wekyu was cooking up an idea in that big head of his.

"Alright. Well, I'll be seeing you later Lo'ak." He said, rubbing his shoulder one last time before he left. Tuk thought for sure Wekyu was going to do something about it, but maybe she got it wrong.

"See you later, man."

"Come on just think, Heltay. What is one thing you've always wanted but never got? And something tangible, it can't be your mom's approval or whatever..."
