What is Pael's role now that I think about it [DEPP]

S2 Spoilers. You have been warned.

To be honest, I wonder who Pael is. I know there's a Graphic Novel, but it isn't the same as the show. However I do wanna read it because I wanna integrate some stuff from it to create a 'season 3'.

Anyways, I don't think Pael is the god. I say this because I doubt they'd put someone so important on a plane that holds prisoners. I've heard interesting things on Reddit.

One of the things that I've heard is that Pael maybe an archangel. Most archangels end with 'el'. I've also seen someone say that Pael could just be a shorten version of Raphael. An archangel depicted in Christianity and Islam.

However, in Bible, Raphael's name isn't mentioned and only two angels/archangels names were. However, the reason why Raphael is seen in Christianity is because of an unnamed angel in John 5:1-4. It talks about how he stirred the pool of Besthesda.

I don't see Pael as an archangel though. He's seem to be more based off a Seraphim. They usually have six wings and are high in the angel hierarchy (I can't really be exact due to there being so many hierarchies). However another he could also be seen as an Ophanim. Due to the rings he has which can represent that fact that Ophanim angels have a figure that looks like two wheels overlapping each other. It's hard for me to explain even further, better if you look it up. They also have many eyes. Whilst Pael doesn't have any, he still found out that Fingers had failed him.

There's a lot more I could go into detail, but to be honest. I've not done that much research, but I'm planning too. I do see Pael as more of an Ophanim than a Seraphim though.
