Shivers cascaded down my spine as I awoke from the dream that had stirred something deep within me, something burning and undeniable. Indy's words had resonated with me; I couldn't fully surrender my newfound freedom. Yet, I couldn't bear to let Red die alone in this unforgiving world. With a determined exhale, I opened my eyes, greeted by the familiar, hulking form of the Ultimasaurus.

A smile tugged at the corners of my snout as I reached out and nudged him gently. He stirred, his massive body shifting as he slowly blinked his red eyes, meeting my amber ones. "Morning, sleepyhead," I crooned, the tank-like dinosaur rumbling in response. With a deliberate grace, he stood, stretching his colossal frame and yawning, his powerful jaws clearly retaining the formidable strength they had displayed just days ago.

"Ready to go on?" I asked, rising to my feet beside him. He grunted in affirmation, and we both took a sip from the oasis, our parched throats grateful for the refreshing water. As we meandered off into the sweltering desert, the scorching sand rolling over our sharp claws, I couldn't help but marvel at how our footprints were soon engulfed by the relentless tide of sand, as if erasing all evidence of our passage.

It was in that moment, as we journeyed onward, that I knew I had done the right thing. Life was not something to be surrendered lightly; it was worth fighting for, and so was freedom. Even if it meant risking it all, even if it meant death, it would be a death worth embracing—a death in the pursuit of a purpose greater than oneself.

"So, who will we find, Blue?" rumbled Red after hours of relentless walking beneath the scorching desert sun. We had taken brief respites in the shade of rocky outcrops, but the searing heat made our journey arduous. I shrugged, my thoughts turning to the feisty gray-blue raptor I hadn't seen in months.

"I don't know," I replied, uncertainty creeping into my voice. "The last time I saw her, it was far from here, perhaps around the Lockwood Manor." I hesitated, remembering our tumultuous past. We had almost killed each other once, and I had no desire to repeat that violent encounter. My inner turmoil was silenced by the disapproving voice within me, a constant reminder of my divided nature.

"I don't want to fight her again, or you, Red," I confessed silently, unwilling to let my companion in on my inner struggle. But you would've failed, just like always, because you do not listen to me. You listen to that lump of flesh those humans call a heart. Well, I don't have one!

I sighed, my patience thin, with no mood for further internal debate. "Ripper, do you even know if she is still alive? I mean, from what I heard, she has been out of human captivity for at least four months," Red pointed out, concern coloring his deep voice.

"That girl can pack a punch," I retorted, my reticence intact. "Seems like the two of you have a history," Red snorted, coming to a halt in the shade of a towering cactus. I hissed, my irritation evident. "We do, and not one that I'm proud of," I muttered bitterly. Red chuckled before laying down, his massive form causing the ground to tremble.

"Well, she sure is feisty and stupid if she falls for you," he teased, earning a venomous glare from me. "Watch it," I warned him sharply. Rolling his eyes, Red settled in and laid his head down. "Will you take watch for now, or should I, do it?" he inquired.

I lashed my tail in annoyance. "Don't worry. I'll make sure no vultures think you're a piece of dead carcass lying around," I promised, and Red huffed, his breathing gradually slowing. I was left in complete silence, save for the faint sounds of desert animals scurrying about.

In that silence, I reflected on the tumultuous events of the past weeks. I had awoken bald and injured, the holes in my memory yet to heal. I had discovered that my very creation was hunting me, seeking either to use me again or end me. My path had crossed with Blue once more, and our reunion had nearly escalated into a deadly confrontation. I had stumbled upon Isabel and her family, their lives extinguished because of my existence, and InGen had captured me.

Then, the house had exploded, granting me freedom once more. I had encountered Blue again, this time working together to find our way to Palo Alto. Our journey had brought us to Red, and I had nearly lost my life in the process. Now, here we were, trudging through the relentless desert, with bad luck seemingly my constant companion.

Despite the adversity, death had not claimed me yet. It was either a second chance or a cruel spectacle, watching me struggle to find my place in a world that seemed intent on rejecting a failure like me.

I sighed, pushing aside my inner turmoil, and continued through the desert as the hours ticked by, the sun sinking low on the horizon, casting long shadows over the unforgiving landscape.
