For eleven years I was alone and no one really cared, they were scared, always scared of the big bad wolf boy. It doesn't matter I am used to their fear, stopping and staring, but then she came. She looked me in the eyes and told me she wasn't scared, and in her eyes I didn't see fear. She wasn't scared of me which I found incredibly brave or stupid.

The road and the forest around passed by as I drove, my eyes were on the road, but my mind was thinking about school. I don't usually stay at school all day, today was different I stayed.

"Gerak, you are speeding." My Mother's voice lifted my foot from the gas peddle and I glanced over at her.

"You nervous mama?" I asked as I grinned my mother, the only family I have slapped me playfully.

"Don't you give me that grin, and yes you are making me nervous." I noticed the pause in her sentence. "Honey is something wrong?"

"Uh not that I know of." I said glancing back at her then at the road. "Why do you ask?"

"Well you didn't come home your usual time so I was worried." Her voice was shaky.

"Mom I went to school, that is the time I am supposed to come home." I laughed.

"All day!? Why on Earth do they make you stay so long?" She griped looking almost offended. I found myself laughing again, she was the only one who ever made me laugh, truly laugh. "Honey don't miss the turn up here." She pointed down the road we live on.

"I got it mom, I know where we live." I turned the steering wheel.

"So why did you come home so late?"

I stayed quiet for awhile, "I don't..." My voice drifted off as we turned another corner, I seen a short boy with raven black shaggy hair another taller boy with long blond hair, and a girl with dark blonde hair pulled into a loose ponytail with long side bangs. Lindal Kayrel.

"Oh who are they, new neighbors?" My mom asked distracted by the three going into the house, they didn't appear to have any blood relation, but still they acted like family. "Gerak watch the road."

I hadn't realized I was staring at them, I looked back and turned into our garage.

"Maybe we should invite them to dinner, that girl looked about your age do you know her?"

I shook my head and turned off the car, "Nope." I felt my mom hit my arm lightly.

"Don't even try to lie to me." She opened her door and got out of the car, I did the same. "So does she have a name?" I chuckled irritably.

"I can't remember." I lied as I began walking into our house.

"I told you not to lie to me." I could hear my mom yell when the door closed.

"What is that Witch yelling about now?" Simon complained as he yawned and stretched, his black fur stood on edge. Our cat Simon was a magic spell my mother created when she was in highschool, the spell was supposed to make her hair softer, it went a little south.

"Don't ask Simon, you don't want to know." I sighed.

"Yes he does, wouldn't you enjoy teasing Gerak about the new girl next door?" I hadn't heard her come in.

"A girl no way, is she cuter than that weird Katie girl?" Simon asked jumping onto the counter and stretching again.

"Katie? Who is Katie?" My mom asked in a squeaky voice. "Oh wait she is that cat woman, Julius's daughter right?"

"Who is this new girl?" Simon asked looking at me with big eyes.

"She is no one important." I laughed and started to walk up to my room.

"If she wasn't important why are you blushing?" My mom said giddily I groaned.

"Whatever!" I walked up the stairs yelling at them while smiling.

"Gerak, where have you been?" Latina, my cat she was a beautiful white cat with vibrant green eyes, Simon may have been an accident but Latina was mom's gift for me on my fifth birthday. My mom perfected her skill since she was in High school, Latina is not just a cat.

"School, why is it so weird that I have been in school all day?"

"All day! Who has you enchanted?" Latina purred.

"Why must there be a girl for me to attend school?" I snapped, I always find myself snapping at poor Latina, but she takes it as if it means nothing.

"I said nothing about a girl Gerak, so who is she?" Latina rubbed against my legs I walked over to my bed and plopped down onto it, she jumped up and sat on my chest.

"New girl, from outside the forest, she doesn't know about Raven's secrets yet."

"Name you idiot, I want details make them good." Latina mumbled obviously annoyed with my silence.

"There aren't many details, I guess maybe a little." I found my eyes closing on me.

"Dang you human I want details, not snores." I heard her, but wasn't listening.

Lindal huh? Guess I have a reason to go to school now. My last thoughts before sleep took over.

"Gerak! Gerak wake up!" My eyes opened to see my mother leaning over me. "Guess what honey."

"What?" I asked closing my eyes again.

"We are having company tonight, so help me get everything ready okay?"

"Mom who is it?" I sat up and Latina jumped off

"Hm? Oh no one special."

She is avoiding my question. "Mom! Who is it?" I asked standing up and walking to the door.

"Oh dear please don't be mad, but it is our new neighbors dear." She confessed, I felt my heart drop.

Lindal is going to be at our house, crap.

"Who is coming tell me human and why do you look so, scared?" Latina asked rubbing up against my legs.
