What did I do? I was staring at my hand after I grabbed Lindal, then slowly I reached up and ran it through my hair.

I now sat in the windowsill by my bed, "She's going to hate me Latina." I heard myself whisper as the sun went down, I could look down and see Lindal's bedroom window. "Should I go down there?"

Latina was silent for a mere moment. "I like that one, you need to smooth things over with her quickly." She purred while on my lap. "Do it when the lights turn off." She said.

"It's ten o'clock, and her light is still on." I grumbled.

"Look again Dumb dumb." Latina purred lightly, I looked down at her window, the lights were off now. Without further thought I opened the window and jumped out, I ran to her window, the curtains were closed. And it was barely above my head, I reached up and tapped on it.

"Lindal?" I whispered, when there was no answer I climbed the tree next to the house and closer to the window. I knocked lightly again. "Lindal?" I whispered again, but this time the curtain moved and I could Linda's face in the darkness.

She opened the window, there was no screen, "Gerak?" her voice was low and her eyes still held that anger, mixed with another emotion I couldn't tell what it was.

"Uh yeah, can I come in?" I was holding onto the branch above my head with one hand.

Lindal was silent for a moment. "Maybe not tonight." She shook her head. "Good night Gerak." I felt my chest tighten when she closed the window, and then the curtain.

I rubbed my hand through my hair again, Yeah she hates me. I jumped from the tree then climbed up to my bedroom.

"I'm guessing it didn't go well?" I heard Latina before I got in.

"What gave you that impression?" I growled pulling myself onto my windowsill.

"Maybe it was the way she shut the window on you." Latina sighed, "Oh well we can try again tomorrow." She assured pouncing on the bed. "Now get to bed human, it's not like you're going to school but you still have to get up early with your mother."

"Good point." My leg was still out the window and I glanced back down at Lindal's house, her curtain was open but when I turned my head it closed.

Morning came, and thanks to mom I was forced to get up earlier than usual and train with her, magic stuff.

"So why is Lin mad at you?" The question was random and nearly caught me off guard.

"What I never said that."

"Well you may not have but Latina told Simon, and well Simon told me." My mother continued to walk into the forest, she wasn't looking at me.

"SIMON." I growled through clenched teeth, Simon was prancing next to me without a care in the world.

"What I think your mother should know, she might have some advice about women." Simon sighed as he gently jumped onto a fallen tree and sat down. We were now in the clearing where I trained.

"How?" I asked, nearly forgetting that my mother was standing next to me.

"I am a woman with many talents I bet I can help more than you know." She smiled, "so come on talk and train."

I groaned and stepped into the clearing, "Well I said something I didn't mean to."

"Like what?"

"It's nothing."

"Oh Come now Gerak, don't lie to that human, it doesn't usually go well for us" Latina was sitting on another tree, in her humanoid form. Latina's clothes were what normal people called "slutty" but what ancient egyptians called normal. Her human skin was tanned and so smooth girls hated her for it, her eyes were the same intense color but her hair was dark brown and streaked with grey and black. "Tell her Gerak, she might be able to help." Latina stretched on the rough bark of the tree.
