Family traditions in prominent families have been regarded as the law. At least for them. The F4 friendship was something that was rooted in family tradition. They were not merely strangers who grouped together to shake the entirety of Bangkok. They were supposed to be who they were even before they were born. Four surnames that dominated industry after industry, that made the group of boys a force to be reckoned with. But six years ago, they fell apart. They had to face responsibilities outside of being powerful and famous high schoolers.
They were close in their own way but out of the four, MJ and Kavin seemed like the closest. Ren barely speaks and for some reason, Thyme is always angry. So Kavin and MJ stuck together. They were like each other's shadows. With Kavin's womanizing ways and MJ being not far behind, they proved that birds of the same feather flock together indeed.
Behind closed doors, however, what everyone did not know was that Kavin and Thyme shared a bond only they knew of. And out of the four, Thyme would say Kavin was his bestest friend. Thyme just knew how to be vulnerable around Kavin and it was a bond that did not need words. And it's the same bond that made Kavin harbor feelings for his friend.
All that history said, Thyme couldn't help but wonder why Kavin was treating him like a stranger. Well, not exactly. He was friendly to all despite the professional setting. Kavin had always been good with people—something Thyme was not. His playboy ways knew exactly how to get people to answer to his whims. But from the get-go, Kavin was just being nice. He wasn't acting like Thyme's friend.
And that leaves Thyme wondering.
Did six years really change them so much? Did Kavin take the falling apart to heart?
But he saw MJ's social media post about visiting Kavin. Thyme was uninvited. What was Kavin's beef with him, anyway?
"Mr. Paramaanantra, what do you think about this project? It's the first time that the Kittiyangkuls and the Paramaanantras are collaborating despite your deeply rooted friendship." A board member asks Thyme.
That snaps back Thyme into reality. He was in a meeting with the board of the Kittiyangkul Empire and the Parama Group for a collaboration project. The project? Baby care. Which was weird because why would they venture into the industry? But Thyme remembers the kid who called Kavin "Papa," and figures it makes sense.
"It was... nice but aren't we too uptight for a baby care brand? Don't get me wrong, the numbers are nice and it all seems very feasible but the Parama Group has a brand reputation somewhat far from baby care." Thyme asks in return.
"I agree with you but I also feel that expansion is a good move and brand image can always be altered from the way we do business. What our company can promise is that I will personally oversee the project. I suppose my experience in the baby care department is enough given that I have a toddler son." Kavin replies and gives his signature smile.
There was a bit of a chatter after Kavin's revelation but it didn't matter much. Their newly appointed CEO is known as a womanizer. It isn't a far possibility that he had impregnated someone over the past six years he went missing. At least now, the company has security with Kavin having a son.
With Kavin's obvious passion for the project, how can Thyme even say no to that?
But Thyme furrowed his brows a bit about Kavin's revelation. He feels a bit of betrayal because these people heard first from Kavin himself that he has a son.
No, make that a lot.
If Thyme hadn't met them by chance at the airport, he wouldn't even know that his former best friend had a child. To be fair, Thyme stopped trying to receive news about Kavin but it's just frustrating on his part that Kavin was making an effort to reconcile with everyone except... him. How come Thyme was the exception?
