Thyme once lived for the thrill. He liked the adrenaline and the high of being challenged. It explains why he became the person he was in high school. He had too much fun and he ended up hurting other people. That was a chapter in Thyme's life that he somehow regrets. That's how he realized that too much will always be bad.
So when he grew up and took on the responsibilities of a proper adult in the real world, he made sure to live life less risky and he stuck to routines. He changed.
And that change he feels so strongly now.
Okay, so maybe, Thyme was still a little bit too overdramatic for his own good. Sure, this was just the Battlestar Galactica Cylon and people like Kavin would say it's not much but it's his first time and his old washed-up self couldn't bear to see all the twists and turns that come with the ride. He looks at Kavin's side and sees little Bright who convinced him to do this.
"Uhm, maybe we should check if you meet the height requirement first, Bright." He says to the kid.
"Uncle, Bwight meets the height wequiwement, pwomise!" Bright says and he raises his right hand as if taking an oath. Kavin laughs at his son's antics.
"Baby, Uncle Thyme is right. Maybe we should ask the personnel first so we can ensure that you can ride the roller coaster." Kavin explains.
"Owki, Papa! Let's go!" Bright replies excitedly.
They approached the booth near the ride and Bright's height was measured. Unfortunately, the 185 and 183cm genes were not yet in action for Bright. He was still technically four and he couldn't get past the 125cm requirement for the ride. He was bummed to know this.
"I still can't wide the wollewcoastew. This is so annoying, Papa. I want to gwow biggew soonew." Bright rants.
"When you're older. You'll sure be able to ride all the rides that you want, my love." Kavin replies while ruffling his hair.
"Look who's relieved." Kavin teasingly says. Thyme just gives him a small smile.
"Bright, I think we should go to the Sesame Street Spaghetti Space Chase," Thyme suggests.
"Elmoooow, lesgo Uncle Thyme, and Papa!" Bright grabs both their hands as he stays in the middle. He was dragging them by running because he was excited to go to the Sesame Street side of things.
The line was fast since they had express tickets. Thyme wanted to close down the whole theme park but Kavin, of course, protested against the idea. It would make Bright wonder why there are no other people in the park and also, not having people around will take all the fun out of it. Kavin is really trying his best to let his son have a normal childhood. No spotlights from being a Kittiyangkul and definitely not one of a Paramaanantra.
Bright was so happy throughout the ride. He surely enjoyed helping the Sesame Street superheroes against Macaroni the Merciless and his minions. Thyme rode at the back while the father and son were at his front. He looked at the sight lovingly.
He wants to get used to this. He wants this.
They got off the ride and Thyme could hear the faint sound of Bright gushing about the ride in the background with Kavin engaging the little kid. Thyme was in a trance.
It's like he found what he wanted in life and it's been right in front of him all along.
A photographer came to them and asked them if they wanted photos in the Sesame Street and of course, the trio happily agreed. The booth for the pictures were a bit far so they decided not to get them just yet. Thyme notes to get them later before they leave.
