The spotlight was not new to Kavin at all. He lived all his life under it. Everybody watched his every move because he was set to inherit the Kittiyangkul Empire, one way or another. It should have been easy for Kavin to deal with all the shenanigans when he came back. But Kavin was doing all those before without a responsibility. He was just up and coming, then. The future. Now, he gets to live that future.
Living under that spotlight made Kavin realize what he should be protecting Bright from. So, he's doing just that. He's currently in one of their private planes with Bright on a flight to Singapore.
The air in Bangkok reminded him so much of his past. Some good--like his friends, the feeling of familiarity, and a little comfort from his homeland. The bad outweighs all the good, however. Dealing with his unrequited love was one thing. He's an adult now and he's sure he can deal with that pain alone but the constant threat of being found out is what ticks Kavin off. It's like he's living on a deadline before everyone finds out that his kid is a Paramaanantra. He wouldn't know how to explain it from the beginning and what he'd do if Thyme and his family made the moves to get his son.
"Papa, why awe we fwying back to S'powe?" His son asks.
"Papa will just let off some steam, baby. I feel like I'm not used to Thailand just yet." Kavin replies.
"Owki, Papa! Let's go to USS!" Bright excitedly says.
"Hmmm, let me think about it first." Kavin jokingly mumbles.
"But Papa, Bwight wants to see the Twolls again, Bwanch and Pwincess Poppy." Bright says with a pout.
Kavin chuckles at his little duckling.
"Okay, okay. You win, baby ducky." Kavin surrenders.
Bright claps in glee. A few moments later, he dozes off after the conversation which gives Kavin a lot of time to reflect upon what has been happening in his life. His father made some points and he knows it but Kavin has been hurt too much that it resulted in him being stubborn.
He glances back at Bright, Kavin wouldn't trade this for anything else.
Thyme succumbs to his routine and today, he goes to work. He was drowning in paperwork when First informed him of a rather bothering news.
"Sir, the meeting with Kavin Kittiyangkul regarding the baby care line has been moved indefinitely, and Mr. Kittiyangkul's secretary notes that he would prefer the meeting to be done online," First announces.
"Did he give any reason for that?" Thyme asks.
"No, sir." First answers and Thyme's brows furrow in confusion. Kavin was definitely acting weird when he left last night. Was he sick? Did something happen?
"Okay. Thanks, First. You may go." Thyme dismisses his secretary.
As soon as First gets out of the office, Thyme dials Kavin's number but he is just welcomed by unattended notices from the service provider. Was Kavin slipping away, yet again?
Thyme shakes his head, a bit in denial. Maybe he's sick.
I can always visit him in his home, Thyme thinks.
He calls up First, his secretary, to tell him that he's going to the Kittiyangkul residence and that he's taking the rest of the day off. He doesn't want history to repeat itself. He knew he could exhibit the highest level of being naive but if this were Kavin's move to avoid him again then he would not let him. He made that mistake six years ago but if Thyme learned anything at all, the feelings he's still uncertain of--they're there for a reason.
No matter what they are, they are there.
First immediately grants his boss's request. His boss doesn't ask for time off so often so he just rolls with it. He wouldn't be an effective secretary if he couldn't run the course without his boss for a few hours... or maybe days. He also knew that whatever it was between the Kittiyangkul heir and his boss, it definitely was something serious. Thyme has been sticking to his routines every time, this is one of the rare moments he doesn't. Besides, the Kittiyangkul boy looks exactly like Thyme. It's one of the reasons First could not do something about him getting close to Thyme in the airport. First was stunned to see him and he thought he'd start claiming to be Thyme's son. It makes one wonder, however, how alike they look. Could it be that he's Thyme's son? But how does Kavin belong to the picture? Is he one of those males... First halted his thoughts.
