Intellect was the reason why the Kittiyangkuls were able to build an empire. They are as old money as old money gets but they peaked and flourished during the time of Kasemchai Taemiyaklin Kittiyangkul. But being a father is something that requires more than the intellect, being a father requires a brain but it also requires a heart. Kasemchai always knew that Kavin was different. He has looks that could kill and charisma that anyone would be a willing victim of. When Kavin came out as pansexual, he knew that everyone would come falling at his son's feet.
Except for the one that he wanted, apparently.
Kasemchai has witnessed different seasons in Kavin's life. He was there when he first got a girl crush, then a boy, and when he silently realized that he was falling for his best friend.
Of course, Kavin has not admitted to the latter but he's his father. He knows him.
Sitting at a table with Thyme, Kavin, Bright, and a confirmed suspicion, Kasemchai finds it hard to pretend that there's no elephant in the room. He's sure Thyme feels it too but he's denying it still. The Paramanaantras were known as stubborn so it does not come as a surprise.
The years of leading a company instilled a lot of values within Kasemchai and one of those is justice. Justice is a state of equality where everyone gets what they deserve.
That's the issue with the bunch, one chooses to be unfair and the other chooses to be blind. And the clueless other person is stuck in the situation of the two adults. It might be the grandfather in him speaking but he wants to at least knock some sense into Kavin.
From the get-go, the dinner was happy. Bright was telling a lot of stories about his school day and Thyme and Kavin were engaging him. They looked so perfect but they had a lot of secrets between them.
The laughter at the dinner table dies down when Thyme's phone rings. Kavin looks like he just woke up from a nightmare when he hears that it is Gorya calling Thyme. The four-leaf clover emoji he knew so well—after all these years, it's still her. He thinks he's stupid for living in that moment and allowing himself that minuscule happiness with Thyme. He has seen this before and it didn't end well for him.
"Kav, Bright, Uncle Kas. I think I have to go. Thank you for the wonderful dinner." Thyme says after the phone call.
"Bright, say bye-bye to Uncle Thyme," Kavin says, refusing to look at Thyme.
"Bye-bye, uncle. Thank you so much fow the gifts. I love love them." Bright says. Thyme pats his head and ruffles his hair.
"You're welcome, kiddo. See you soon!" Thyme says.
"Kav, I have to go now." He says to his best friend.
"Yeah, bye." Kavin shortly replies.
Thyme was confused by the response but still plasters a smile on his face because it might just be him. He tries to hug Kavin goodbye but the latter moves out of his seat to go to the bathroom and dodge Thyme. It was strange, to say the least.
When Thyme makes his exit and Kasemchai is sure he left, he confronts Kavin.
"I think we need to talk." He tells his son.
"I think so too, Dad." Kavin agrees in response.
"The study in 30 minutes," Kasemchai says.
"Okay, Dad. I'll just go with Bright in his room." Kavin replies.
When Bright is settled in his room, Kavin leaves to go to the study and have a talk with his father.
"So, when are you going to admit it?" Kasemchai starts to ask his son.
