Bonus chapter II part II

Barbie's POV

BEEP BEEP BEEP

I groaned as I looked around for a moment and grunted in frustration.
A hospital room....I'm starting to get Deja Vu.

Right then the door was opened. I smiled at my friends and struggled to get up. And surprisingly, I could sit up without any help.

"Barbie! Are you out of your mind?!" Patricia exclaimed, "What the hell were you thinking?!

Well I kinda expected that. I couldn't help but chuckle.
Renee and Teresa stared at me as if I had grown two heads.

"For real....why did you do that?" Teresa asked, "We all know how dangerous Dunbar is. He could've killed you!"

Nothing new about that....to be completely honest.
"It's just....I couldn't let him get away with it," I shrugged casually, "But I had no idea that was going to happen. I think he was planning an escape and I went in there right in the middle of it."

That was the only reasonable explanation. He was trying to escape. Maybe it was for the best that I interfered. The I3 couldn't afford letting him be on loose again.

"Well....luckily, he's convicted and is sent to jail," Patricia grinned, as she told me the good news.
I closed my eyes for a moment and sighed in relief.
It's over. I can finally go back to my normal life. I don't have to worry about the safety of literally everyone...for now.

"Soooo what's next for us?" Renee asked, uncertainly, "What's next for Spy Squad? Are we going to go on more missions?"

I took a moment to think about all of this. No matter what future holds me for me, I'll always be a spy for the I3. That's part of me that will never change. After all, I'm carrying my family's legacy.

I smiled at my friends.
"I think this is just the beginning for Spy Squad," I replied and then chuckled, "But for now, let's just enjoy this right moment."

"So now the mission was a success....pound it?" Patricia smiled sheepishly.

Then the four of us fist bumped.
"Pound it!" The four of us said in union.

Right then I heard a knock on the door.
I glanced over at the door and then saw the doctor.

"Miss. Roberts, good to see you awake," he smiled, "Everything seems to be fine. Your wound is restitched and luckily your wrist is better now...but you should be careful with it. Other than that, you're getting discharged today."

I let out a sigh of relief.
Oh thank goodness....I can go back home.
I nodded and smiled, appreciatively.
"Thank you," I replied.

With that he walked towards the door but then he stopped in his tracks.
"And visiting hours are over."
Then he left.

"I think he meant that we should go," Teresa stated and patted me on my shoulder, "Catch ya later, Barbie."
And with that my friends left.

I laid back down on the bed and closed my eyes, trying to think of what I was going to do next.
Right then an idea occured to me....something I always wanted to do before all this chaos started.

I could be a spy and at the same time I could pursue another career.
I was busy thinking of all of the scenarios that I didn't realize when I fell asleep.

Time Skip
Six hours later

Home....sweet home!
I was seated on my bed, trying to study for the finals....despite the fact there was around two months left until the finals.

Right then I heard a knock on the door. I put my book aside and stood up.
Ken entered my room. I smiled at him.

"I came to visit you and then your mom gave me your lunch," he explained.
Ohh crap! He's mad at me!

"Ken...listen...I'm sorry," I apologized. I knew I shouldn't have kept that whole crazy plan a secret. But I didn't know it was going to escalate that much. I probably made him worried sick.

Ken however didn't say anything....which added to my anxiety.
He didn't even look into my eyes.
"Ken...please say something...please," I pleaded. His silence is killing me.

"Barbie, what the heck?! I was scared to death when I heard what happened!" Ken exclaimed, "What were you thinking?!"

He placed the tray on the desk and pulled me into his arms and pressed his lips against mine and started kissing me.
I closed my eyes, pulling him closer, kissing him.

"Don't ever do that again, okay?" Ken whispered in my ear. I nodded, leaning in his strong hold, "I can't lose you, Barbie....I can't."
We stayed like that for some time.

"Alright...you need to eat, my love," he chuckled.
I grabbed the tray but then Ken grabbed my arm and made me sit on his lap.

"I'm going to feed it to you myself, hun," Ken whispered in my ear then he kissed my hair. I couldn't help but smile at that.

I loved the openness of our relationship. I loved the teasing, the flirting, the kisses we shared.
It was simply perfect.

Once he fed me my lunch, I leaned into his arms and sighed.

"Barbie...how about we go on a date?" Ken suggested. Now that was out of nowhere.

"Right....Right now?" I asked confused. He nodded as he stroke my hair with his hand.
"Yeah...I...have a surprise for you, baby."

I quickly got up and walked to my walk-in closet.
I decided I would wear my blue dress and curl my hair.
Once I was done the both of us headed towards...I don't where.
Ken was driving...while I was trying to understand where this place was.

"Ken....where are we going?" I asked curiously.
He chuckled. "Best things are for those who wait, sweetheart."
I couldn't help but giggle at that.

After some time Ken parked the car and we got off the car.
"Alright...close your eyes eyes."

"What?" I asked, confused.
Ken covered my eyes with his hands.
"I'll guide you...trust me."

I nodded and walked slowly forward.
I really wanna know what this surprise is all about.

"Alright...we're here," Ken whispered to me, "Now you can open your eyes."
I chuckled and opened my eyes but gasped in surprise.

We were at the beach. He set up a picnic here.
"Ken....this is amazing!" I exclaimed happily.

"Only the best for you, m'lady," he whispered in my ear, causing me to giggle.

I really wish everything could always stay like this. But for now...I'm happy for everything.
