(Right, so just a quick explanation, the heist chapter deleted itself meaning all 4000+ words were deleted making me completely unmotivated to write these past few weeks. I'm not writing it again cause I'm too busy to write more than one chapter a month since I started college and it's a lot of work. Bare with me please <3)

It had been two months since Wylan started to work full-time alongside Kaz Brekker, his crows and the Dregs and it was definitely something Wylan had never expected himself to do in the future. Just a couple of weeks ago, he'd broken into his own house and had taken his belongings back. He'd also been on several heists with the Crows. And now he was sitting at a table in the Crow Club listening to Kaz waffle on about the next job the crows had to complete.

After about an hour, Kaz was finished but before Wylan could leave he heard his name being called. "Wylan," said Kaz. Wylan simply looked back at Kaz expectantly. "I think I've got some information on your mother," he said. "On where she is."

Wylan's eyes widened as he looked at Kaz, a million thoughts rushed through his head. "As in... you found out where my father buried her...?" Wylan asked. You see, Wylan's mother died when he was 7. He couldn't remember all that much about her. Other than the fact that she was his mother and that she loved him. When she'd died, Wylan's father hadn't allowed him to go to her funeral meaning he'd never known about her whereabouts. So if he'd ever come looking for her, he'd not have a lead or someplace to start.

Kaz nodded, pulling papers from his pocket, "Go there with Jesper," he said. "You should find her soon enough." He handed Wylan a piece of paper with some words on it. "Give this Jesper. It's where you're going. They're expecting you there in an hour." And with that, Kaz got up and left to go back to his office. He left Wylan there, pondering on the thought. He sat down at the table and just thought about it silently. Was he really going to finally be able to say goodbye to his mother? He finally had the chance to tell her all of the things that had been going on in his life. Even if she couldn't answer him back. He could just sit there and talk to her in hopes that she was out there somewhere listening to him. Wylan fiddled with the sleeve of his jumper as he thought about all that he was going to tell his mother. He hoped to tell her about what had been going on since she left. He hoped to tell her how his life was going, the people he had met, and what he hoped to do in the future. He wanted to tell her how much he'd been missing her.

Wylan was now thinking about what else Kaz had found in Jan Van Eck's office. Perhaps Kaz wanted to kill two birds with one stone and thought that he might as well tell Wylan where his mother was buried. He must have found the papers when searching for things that could ruin Jan Van Eck's reputation. But then Wylan thought again, 'Why would Kaz do that for me? I'm just a nobody to him. Just another one of his Crows.'

Wylan then heard the sound of footsteps walking down the stairs. It was Jesper. "Kaz said that we have to go somewhere...? Did he tell you?" Jesper asked as he entered the room.

"Uh... yes, he- he gave me this note," Wylan said, handing the note to Jesper. "He told me to give it to you." In response, Jesper nodded and read the note. His lips thinned into a line and then he spoke.

"Ah right..." he said slowly, nodding his head again. "I've heard of this place," he added. Wylan looked at him with curiosity in his eyes. In response, Jesper handed Wylan the note who just stared at it.

"What does it say?" he asked, looking up at Jesper.

"What, can't you read it?" Jesper asked, looking at Wylan with furrowed eyebrows. Wylan just stared down at the note with a blank expression on his face in silence. "Oh- I'm sorry- I didn't mean- I didn't..."

"It's not your fault, you didn't know," Wylan said, not looking back up at Jesper, he just stared at the letters on the note. He knew which letters they were, he just couldn't put them into words.
