Yeji's POV

God, I hate Mondays. I hate night shift Mondays even more. For some reason, time just goes by so slowly on this day. I enter in a couple of my patients files into the computer.

*ring ring*

"yeoboseyo" I answered

"Dr. Hwang there's been an accident" a man replied on the phone.

"I'm sorry who's this? And what accident? Who was involved?" I questioned. I was not ready to hear what he had to tell me next.

"This Dr. Kim from the ER unit. You were one of their first contacts. I'm sorry, but both Im-Yoo Jeongyeon and Nayeon got into a head on collision with a drunk driver. Despite all our efforts, they did not make it" it felt as if his words cut through my heart. I collapsed on the floor.

"Their their daughter? Yejin is she... oh my god is she ok?" I said sobbing.

"Yes ma'am. She's ok. She was at home with the babysitter" my heart hurt a little less knowing Yejin was ok, but my world was slowly becoming darker.

"I'm so sorry Dr. Hwang." He said sincerely.

*The phone call ends*

My vision starts to go dim. I fall to the ground crying. Why them? Why them both? Yejin's birthday was only a week ago. They were all so happy. Why.

Oh my god. Ryujin. Does she know? I open my phone.

*ring ring*

Ryujin's POV

*ring ring*

I rub my eyes, and check the time. 3am. Who the fuck is calling at 3am. Ugh. I look at my phone Hwang Yeji. Weird she never calls me. This must be important. I sit up from bed and answer the phone.

"yeoboseyo" I said a bit groggy.

I can hear sobs from the other line.

"Doc are you okay what's going on why are you crying? Is everything okay?" I question

"Ryujin... they're gone." She barely gets out.

"Yeji who's gone? Where are you? Are you safe?" I ask while I put my clothes on. She may need a friend right now.

"Ryujin. Please come to Seoul hospital now. Jeongyeon and Nayeon unnie..." she lets out a big sob. I knew something happened.

"They're gone"

I dropped to the ground. This isn't real. This is a prank. She's fucking with me. This isn't real they're at home with Yejin. They're fine.

"If this is a joke Yeji. It's not funny. Please tell me this isn't real." I said with a stern tone.

"I wish I could tell you this is all just a nightmare, and that it's fake, but it's not. Ryujin... I saw them at the morgue. I'm sorry please come to the hospital" she sobs.

"I need you here with me" she pleads

My heart breaks. My cousin's gone. She raised me, and now she's gone. And Nayeon Unnie who also treated like her very own sister. Yejin. Oh my god Yejin.

"Yeji where's Yejin? Is she okay? Was she hurt?" I asked frantically.

"Yejin was with a babysitter at home when the accident happened." She said still a little hard to understand.

"I'm coming Yeji. I'll be there as fast as I can" I comforted her.

"Please drive safe" she says in a soft voice.
