Chapter 70

Sophie POV:
About 3pm, we arrive at Jacks parents house to pick up the children. As much as I enjoyed the night off and time with Jack, we've both missed the little ones lots. As we walk in, Elliot's asleep and the other 2 are playing, it doesn't take long for Summer to notice us then tell Max as they both come over for cuddles. Karen brings in some tea for us both, we sit and talk about the evening. "You two look so much happier like new people." Karen says and I smile, then Jack says "we realised we needed to remember to be us, as much as we're parents to these 3, we needed to remember we're also a couple and to take time as a couple, also being apart made me realise how lucky I am to have Soph, we feel so much closer now." I nod in agreement and add "it's like along the journey we kept putting everything in front of us as a couple and soon we drifted, we're stronger and happier together. So we now take time each day for just us 2 and remember our love for each other." Kevin tells us how lovely that is and it's good we've remembered to be a couple again. Jack and Kevin talk about upcoming matches while I watch the little ones play happily.
Later in the evening, we're back home and dinners cooking. I stand in the doorway of the kitchen looking into the front room where Jacks on the floor with the little ones. Elliot's in his arms and the other 2 are next to him, as I watch the scene unfold I get emotional watching them all, it's beautiful and the amount of love I have for all of them is incredible and there's literally no words for it.
-Time skip- Boxing Day- 26th December
Our Christmas together was amazing, Summer loved it and this year she had a much better understanding of the whole celebration. We spent yesterday with Jacks parents and had a lovely dinner. It's crazy to think that I've been married to Jack 2 years now. Our children are getting older and bigger. They're all amazing and have their own personalities, both of them very similar to Jack. Summer has grown into a mini Jack.
Today we've got everyone coming round for a Christmas celebration, we're excited to spend it with them all and it'll be lovely for the children to all be together and enjoy the fun.
At midday the doorbell rings and we go to open the door, Summer runs to see who it is and gets so excited to see Ben the other side, he's followed by a lot of the others. We leave the door unlocked and tell the others to let themselves in. By 12:45, everyone is here and the children are all excitedly opening their presents. I feel a tap on my shoulder and look around to see Jack hand me a glass of champagne. "Enjoy this baby, it's the first Christmas in a long time you've been able to have alcohol." He says as he kisses my forehead, I grin and thank him as I hear Lauren say "Jacks right, you're first Christmas drinking in a while, we're making the most of that." I laugh and so does everyone else.
Once all the presents are opened and the papers thrown away all the children are occupied with their toys and are either in the front room or playroom, I look around and see my family, there not all blood but they're all family. They've been there for me in the highs, the lows and I know they'll always be there for me to count on. I realise that back nearly 3 years ago when I met Jack on that holiday I never expected a conversation, some chips and cokes to turn into the most perfect thing to ever exist. My life could've turned out so much differently and this was a life I  never knew was possible and never even thought would happen to someone like me. I have 3 beautiful children, the most amazing husband and a whole load of friends who are family.
I'm brought out of my thoughts by Jack, he puts his arms around my waist from behind me and lays his head on my shoulder. "What's on your mind gorgeous girl?" He says. I smile and say "taking in how lucky I am. I have you, the children and loads of people in my life who care about us. It may not have been an easy road but we've got through it and it's beautiful." He kisses my cheek and says "you may be lucky but we're all lucky to have you in our lives. I am the luckiest, meeting you and Summer on holiday was the luckiest part of my life. You changed me and made me become who I am today and without you I'd be lost. I love you so much." I cuddle into him, and whisper "I love you too handsome." He grins and we stay cuddled up watching the most perfect Christmas happen, the sounds of laughter, children playing, Christmas songs playing in our ears. We smile with happiness, feeling lucky and content with where our journeys taken us.
