I can't get that tree stump out of my head. I can't get the smell out of my head. I can't get it's words out of my ears. What is going on with me? What is happening to me? I feel my scar. It burns. It feels like fire. Why? I draw my hand back.
"Kenshin." Kaoru comes from behind me.
I turn. I look at her.
"You need to tell me what's going on with you. You've been acting weird ever since we got back from the woods." Kaoru says.
"I'm fine." I lie.
I can't tell her it because I don't know what's going on with me. I have no idea why I'm acting this way. Everything feels off. My scar burns. It feels like fire every time I touch it. I am drawn to the tree stump because I have no idea why. I can smell it. It smells like blood and ash. I'm the only one who can smell what it is apparently.
"Kenshin, please." Kaoru walks over to me.
I let out a breath. Her eyes are hard to look away from. I can't lie to those eyes. They're so innocent. They're so beautiful at the same time. They are strong.
"Do you ever feel like something is calling to you but you can't understand it?" I ask.
She looks up at me.
"What is calling to yo?" She asks.
"I don't know." I answer.
