Sunset

Chapter Seven

I was running through the forest wind whipping against my face. Something was chasing me. I looked over my shoulder seeing the red headed woman getting closer. I let out a scream as I tripped and fell. Suddenly Edward stood in front of me between the red head and I. He hissed at the woman and attacked her. 

I woke up with a gasp. I rubbed my hand on my forhead taking a deep breath before I climbed out of bed getting ready for school. Today, I decided to wear a pair of bootcut jeans, an old AC/DC shirt I found in dad's dresser when I was snooping for clothes along with his flannel, my wore out dark green converse. I brushed my hair before heading out of my room to the bathroom where Bella was brushing her teeth. We both smile at each other.

Bella and I walked into the cafeteria heading to the table to set our bags down before getting our lunch. 

"La Push babies." Eric grinned at us. "You two in?" 

"Should I know what that means?" Bella asked. 

"La Push beach down on the Quileute Rez." Mike explained. "We're all going tomorrow."

"It's Jake and Paul's area." I added. 

"There's a big swell coming down." Jessica says.

I raised a brow at Eric as he hopped on the table in a slightly crouched position smirking. 

"Eric, you stood up once, and it was a foam board." Jessica says to him causing the table to erupt in laughter.

"But there's whale watching too," Angela smiles sweetly. "You two should come." 

"La Push, babies." Eric says weirdly. "It's La Push."

"I'll go if you stop saying it like that." Bella laughed heading to the salad bar.

"Seriously man, it's creepy." Mike added.

I sat down between Angela and Mike with a huff grabbing out my book from my bag. 

"What about you, Nico?" Angela asked.

"I was planning on going to La Push anyways." I chuckled. "Promised my god father, I'd bring him some of my infamous chocolate peanut butter cookies." 

"Those sound good." Mike says. "Bring us some!"

"Oh my god." Jessica says causing me to look up at her.

I followed to where she was looking and saw Bella talking with Theodore. Shrugging I turn back to my book. I felt Mike glance over my shoulder causing me to give him a weird look.

"Is that for like a violin or something?" He asked me. 

"No." I shook my head. "Piano."

"You know how to play the piano?" He gaped. "When did you learn?"

"Started taking lessons at like five and never stopped playing." I shrugged.

I climb out of Bella's truck when she parked at La Push beach. I grabbed the second tupperware smiling. We had just left the Black's house after dropping off some of my chocolate peanut butter cookies. We walked up to our friend group. Angela was sitting in the drivers seat of Tyler's van wrapped in a blanket. Jessica was putting on a wetsuit while the others where joking around. Bella had taken a seat in the open side door while I handed Mike the cookies. 

He grinned tearing off the lid grabbing one of the cookies taking a big bite. I laughed slightly as Tyler and Eric practicaly tackled Mike to get the cookies. Jess walked over to Angela turning her back to her. 

"Can you zip me up?" she asked.

Angela smiled as she zipped the wetsuit. I plopped down beside Bella snatching a twizzler from her causing her to glare at me. 

"Swan Twins!" we heard causing us to look up. 

Jake was walking up with a couple of guys. He waved excitedly to us.

"Jake!" Bella smiled. "Guys, this is Jake, our friend."

"He's also my god brother." I added. "Twizzler?" 

Jake grinned taking one from me as he started to eat it.

"What are you doing here?" Bella asked the tan boy. "Are you stalking us now?"

"You're on my Rez." Jake chuckled. "Are you girls surfing?"

"I forgot my surfboard at moms." I frowned slightly as Bella shook her head. 

"You can keep Bella company." Jessica says. "Her date bailed." 

I glanced at Bella confused.

"What date?" Eric and I asked at the same time.

"She invited Theodore Cullen." Jessica says.

"I think it was nice of her." Angela smiled. "No one ever invites them."

"Yeah cause Cullen's a freak." Mike says.

"You got that right." One of Jake's friends agreed. 

"You guys know them?" Bella asked.

"The Cullen's don't come here." The other boy says to her. 

"Alright, I'm going to get in the water." I stated as I got up from my seated position.

I took off my heels and dress revealing my bathing suit. 

"Bells, if you need me just scream." I say before heading down toward the water. "Mike, stop staring at my ass." 

I smirked as I heard Eric laughing along with Bella. I slowly put a foot in seeing it was ice cold. I smiled walking until I was knee deep. My head snapped up as I heard my name being called. I saw Paul jogging over. I gave him a friendly wave wating for him to get to me.

"Hey, Nico." He smiled. "I haven't seen you in a while." 

"Schools been hectic." I shrugged. "Espically when Bella was almost smashed by a van."

"I was wondering, do you like anyone?" Paul asked as he stood beside me in the water.

"Yeah." I giggled. "His names Edward Cullen." 

Paul's face seemed to harden before he stormed off causing me to frown. What the hell was that. I let out a squeal as I was splashed. I turned around to see Eric smirking at me. I glared at him before tackling him into the icy water. I giggled when he sat up from the water shivering.

"That's what you get." I shrugged. "Don't mess with me."

Suddenly I was lifted from the water. I turned my head seeing Mike carrying me deeper into the water.

"No!" I laughed before he threw me in the air.

I went underneath the icy water surrounding me. Smirking to myself I decided to freak them out and stay under for a good few minutes. For some reason, I can hold my breath under water for a good bit. When I felt they were scared enough I emerged from the water with a small gasp. Eric, Jessica, Tyler and Mike all rushed to me with worried looks on their faces as I laughed.
