Sunset

Chapter Eleven

I sat on the counter beside Emmett who was chopping up some vegetables. Edward picked me up an hour earlier than Theo was planning on getting Bella. Edward walked back into the kitchen pressing a sweet kiss to my cheek while sticking something behind my hear. I reach up and felt a flower. I gave him a bright smile as he went to help Emmett with the vegetables. Esme glanced up from the meat she was cooking and smiled.

"They're here." She says.

"Here comes the other human." Rosalie added causing me to giggle. 

Bella and Theo walked into the kitchen. I gave Bella an excited wave from my position on the counter. Bella laughed waving back.

"Bella, this is Esme my mother for all intents and purposes." Theo introduced as Esme walked up.

"It's great to meet you." She smiled hugging Bella. "Both of you girls give us an excuse to use the kitchen." 

"Bella!" Alice chirped causing me to look toward the sliding door.

Alice came skipping into the house from a tree branch with Jasper following her. She stopped by me handing me one of her bouquets of wild flowers before skipping to Bella pulling her into a hug.

"Oh you do smell good." Alice says causing me to snort.

"Alice." Theo mumbled embarrassed. 

"Oh, don't worry, Theo." Alice waved him off. "Bella and I are going to be great friends."

"I hope you're hungry." Esme says with a smile. "We made Italiano for you girls." 

"Yes, absolutely." Bella lied.

"She already ate." Theo called out Bella's lie.

I jumped slightly as I heard glass shatter. I snapped my head to Rosalie who had smashed the bowl of salad in her hands. 

"Perfect." Rosalie hissed stepping over the glass. 

"Yeah," Bella stuttered. "It's just that I know you guys don't eat."

"Of course." Esme says gently. "That's very considerate of you." 

"Ignore Rose." Theo says to Bella. "I do."

"Yeah, lets just keep pretending like this isn't a danger for all of us." Rosalie snapped. 

"We would never tell anyone." I say to her.

"I know you wouldn't." Rosalie says gently before glaring at Bella.

"I would never tell anyone either." Bella added in a shaky voice. 

"She knows that." Carlisle says as he glanced over at Rosalie. 

"Yeah," Emmett says walking over to Rosalie. "The only problem is you've gone public now." 

"Emmett." Esme chided him. 

"Can I go play the piano?" I asked Edward gently not wanting to hear the arguing.

He nodded lifting me off the counter by the hips and gently set me on my feet. I lace my hand with his heading out of the room. We sat at the piano and I played some random notes. Edward copied causing me to giggle. He then started playing the beautiful melody from the other day.

"What did you name this?" I asked quietly.

"Lettie's Lullaby." He smiled down at me. 

I blushed at that and leaned up to kiss him on the cheek before pressing it back to his arm. 

"Want to do something, fun?" he asked suddenly.

"Of course." I laughed.

"Come on Kola Bear." He says before lifting me into his arms and rushing out the balcony door.
