That cold New Year's Eve, in a dark room, a person was looking at the sky while listening to the hands of the clock moving, close to 12:00 A.M. That person was sitting in a fetal position at the edge of a window, watching the flickering snow fall, which, for that person, had been insignificant until that moment, where they had realized how lonely they felt.
That person, who was curled up in themself, wished they were out there enjoying and celebrating surrounded by people. However, they knew they had no choice.
"Today's such a cold day..." They said as they let their gaze linger on the window, reflecting on their actions.
This person had done something wrong, and was locked in a dark room in consequence, while hearing the laughter of other people outside the window. They were looking askance at them, but they knew they didn't deserve it.
Drowning in their loneliness, and swallowing their pride, which until not long ago was broken, they decided to simply curl up again, surrounded by a blanket, and being drowned out by the joy of the rest of the people standing nearby.
"...I want to eat okonomiyaki..."
In that darkness, they remained in complete silence once again, while the lights outside and the snow combined in a melancholic image, next to the small body of that person.
