THE BLINDER

Sam

The fear of fighting the werewolves was still in the air and also,
The glimmer of hope after Aiden told us about how close we were to the blinder was encouraging us to keep moving through the densness of the forest. For a few moment I thought we were lost but Aiden used his wand and was confident that we were on the right track.

We could see ourselves getting close to completing the mission but some question kept bugging me- why did those zealus werewolves not kill us? and more importantly why did Jet Hale, the murderer of my parents did not want us to be harmed? He probably wanted to torture us himself.
I let the thought go and kept moving.
"How much longer Aiden?" Asked Ronan with a sigh of exhaustion.
"I can sense it. It's just somewhere around here." He replied.

After almost an hour of moving around which seemed like an eternity, Aiden screamed again with excitement and this time it was the blinder not some scary werewolves offering free food.

"This is it! we're here" Aiden said pointing towards a mini semi sphere which covered an area. It was probably the protective charm he was sensing to get us here.
It looked like a thin golden film wall shaped like the back of an igloo. It was translucent and we could see a huge rock which looked like a door in the centre.
There were some inscriptions on the rock which were barely visible.
The victory of our mission seemed so close yet so far away.
There was still lingering danger of the zealus coming after us.

"Let's get this over with" said Ronan With a rushed voice extending his hand for me and Aiden to stack ours above it. It kind of became our signature move.

I touched the thin golden wall and my hand passed right through it. My heartbeat pace increased and anxiousness built in the pit of my stomach as I neared the door to the blinder

"In order to protect this world,
was this blinder made,

Only must Anderson and Hale's
blood be responsible to open this gate."

I read the inscription carved upon the door.
"Hale??? As is Jet Hale? He can open this door too? How's that possible? Isn't he the one who wants this?" I asked panicked and confused.
"This doesn't make Sen-" before Ronan could complete his sentence, a noise came from the bushes
Our attention was diverted towards it and we braced the weapons in our hands ready to face the upcoming threat.

My anger burned and mouth opened wide with shock as I saw Jet Hale himself emerge out of the bushes as if saying his name had summoned him right in very front of us.
He seemed old white hair streaks could be seen in his black hair and his aura was dark and scary. He seemed cold yet calm.
"Hello Sam, our last meeting was not very pleasant I must say but I wanted to tell you how much you look like your mother, except your eyes they're your father's" he said in a deep voice
"YOU DON'T HAVE ANY RIGHT TO TALK ABOUT MY PARENTS. YOU KILLED THEM!!" I screamed at him furiously
He laughed at this. Which furthered my anger only if that were possible.
My blood started boiling and heat rushed my hands
"How little do you know. I have very much to tell you come on now." He said ignoring my furious stare.

I lost control again almost like deja vu of the the last time I saw him, a streak of fire escaped my hands going directly towards him.
The fire hit him square in the chest and he fell
"Don't do this again Sam" he croaked through pain
He won't die obviously he's way stronger than that but I had a few minutes edge till the time he recovered.
"Hurry up get the blinder we'll take care of him" Aiden said.

I immediately rushed to the door took out a knife and cut my finger.
My blood dipped down and a few drops fell on the inscription written there. Hale's name on the inscription was still a mystery. But there wasn't enough time to think about it.
With a loud rumbling sound the door began opening and Hale also got up behind me.
Aiden was busy in setting up the teleportation so that we can leave as soon as possible.

"Sam please listen to me" said Hale instead of attacking any of us although killing us was very easy for him.
The door was opening further and Ronan held Jet Hale back
"Hurry up both of you" He exclaimed while throwing knives at Jet which he easily dodged.

The gate finally opened enough for me to enter and I went, the inside seemed like a cave with small creepers on all sides the centre of the cave had a 6-7 inches tall box shaped thing which was the blinder. It looked magical and emitted some kind of bluish light.
I grabbed it immediately and went back. Jet Hale and Ronan were in a hand to hand combat where Jet was easily getting away from all the punches and knife attacks but, just like the werewolves he wasn't attacking at all just defending himself. I joined the fight with the blinder safely tucked inside my bag.
"Just hear me out once." Jet said through the punch throwing.
"COME ON AIDEN HURRY UP NOW." I shouted.
"Just a few more seconds" he said hurriedly.

"Sam, you're my go-" started jet but Ronan struck a punch on his jaw before he could finish his sentence and he winced.
It was still puzzling that why wasn't he attacking.
I used the fire from my hands to make a protective wall to prevent him from coming towards us. He was trying to speak something as if pleading me to hear him but nothing was audible. The fire wall held him back and exhaustion started taking over me
"COME ON AIDEN" said Ronan after sensing the drain of my power.

"IT'S DONE COME FAST GUYS" shouted Aiden a few seconds later and I barely heard him as all my energy kept going out from my hands

I continued the fire wall as Ronan practically dragged me towards the teleportation device and when we were all withing the sphere. Aiden chanted the final spell.
I stopped the fire as we lifted up.
I glanced at Jet
And a few words came to me
Something like
"Betray you"
As we disappeared into thin air and carried on with the sickening teleportation process back to the VERGAINS with the blinder kept safely in my bag.
