—AT BREAKFAST, ARES NOTICED REMUS LUPIN AT THE TEACHER'S TABLE. Headmaster Dumbledore stood up and said, "May I have everyone's attention, please?"

Everyone turned to look at the man.

"Our last Defense Against the Dark Arts professor quit, unfortunately, due to old age. The new professor is Remus Lupin." Dumbledore motioned towards the man, who stood up and bowed over the applause given to him by the students. "Back to your breakfast, everyone."

Headmaster Dumbledore sat back down and went back to his breakfast, as did everybody else.

"A werewolf for a teacher?" Blaise, who had just walked in, sneered and sat down.

Almost as if he heard them, Remus Lupin stared at the group of four.

Ares glared at him, making Remus look away with a gulp.

"It can't get any lower than that," agreed Draco as he bit into the pancake in front of him.

Theo poured some orange juice for himself and for Ares, who muttered a 'thanks' to him and drank it. "Too bad. We've got to deal with it."

"This year is an introduction to the Dark Arts and how to defend against them. Therefore, we will not be learning any advanced spells, nor will we be discussing high level Dark magic. We will be sticking to basics and I ask that you not incorporate higher level Dark magic in your assignments until such time that you learn about them. I will also not be teaching you about them as "extra studies," so don't ask." Remus Lupin immediately stated as he walked into the room and looked at the students, his eyes stopping on the Slytherins at the last sentence, especially Ares.

"Now, get into pairs. We will be learning about the expelliarmus spell."

"We've already learned that." Draco said as if it was obvious.

Remus shrugged. "Some of you haven't perfected it. Today, you will. Now, into pairs! Come on!"

Ares and Draco— a pair, as usual— stood up and watched as all the desks and chairs were thrown onto a side of the room. Every student became a pair.

"Expelliarmus," muttered Ares as he disarmed Draco.

Draco rolled his eyes and took back his wand from the boy. "Expelliarmus." He said, watching as Ares's wand came into his hand.

Ares merely rolled his eyes as well at him and took back his wand from Draco's outstretched hand.

Since they had already perfected the spell, they went to the other side of the room and just watched the others while they talked.

"Potter hasn't perfected it." Draco pointed to the boy discreetly. Ares nodded, but didn't care. "And neither has the Weasel. Granger has, though."

"Mhm," hummed Ares.

"Why aren't you both doing it?" Professor Lupin asked the two boys and crossed his arms.

"We've already perfected it." Draco replied haughtily.

Professor Lupin nodded with a sigh and went away.

"It would be cool if they had a Dark Arts class. A class where they talked about the dark arts and taught dark spells." Draco mused to himself.

Ares nodded in agreement. "That actually would be cool."

"It's a shame there isn't."

"I perfected it!" Blaise rushed over to them with Theo's wand in his hand.

Theo walked over to them.

"What about you, Theo?" Ares asked.

"I had already perfected it."

"Great. You can people watch with us." Draco grinned, shaking his head at Blaise's excitement.

Blaise gave Theo back his wand. "What is Weasley doing?"

Ron Weasley was, in fact, doing the spell wrong. Instead of the right motion with his hand, he was doing the exact opposite.

"His wand's broken, too." Draco sniffed. "He won't perfect it anytime soon."

"Looks like it." Theo agreed with a nod.
