—HARRY DID NOT SHOW UP TO THE ASTRONOMY TOWER THE WHOLE MONTH, NOT UNTIL THE LAST NIGHT. Examinations were over and Ares, as usual, was at the Astronomy tower. After a whole month of Potter not showing up, he didn't expect the boy to show up this time either, so he had a book with him.The sound of footsteps caught his attention. "Potter?" He called out, but nobody was seen.
Harry took off the invisibility cloak on him and sat across from Ares. "Hey," he said, scratching his neck sheepishly.
Ares seemed pissed. He glared at the boy, not replying.
"I'm sorry for disappearing on you for a while," continued Harry without looking into the boy's eyes.
He seemed shy.
Ares scoffed.
If Ares was being honest, it had bothered him. He was looking forward to meeting up there with Harry almost every night. It was his favorite part of the night.
So, when Harry basically ghosted him, he felt a pang in his chest. He would look at the boy during dinner most of the time, but Harry never looked back at him.
Or so he thought.
Ares did not notice the longing looks Harry gave him when he wasn't looking. He did, however, notice how badly Harry was doing in classes. He only hoped that Harry did well enough in his examinations.
"Why were you ignoring me?" Ares finally asked.
Harry blinked at the hint of hurt in his voice. "I—" he shut his mouth almost immediately, not knowing what to say. Finally, he settled with, "I'm sorry."
Ares rolled his eyes and stood up, not wanting to be there any longer.
"Wait—" Harry stood up and grabbed Ares's hand.
Ares seemed alarmed, but didn't let go as he turned around.
Harry looked at their entwined hands and gulped. He looked into Ares's eyes. "Don't leave, Ares."
Ares stilled. Whatever he felt at the sound of his name coming out of Harry's mouth, he wanted to feel it again. He whispered, "Say my name again."
"Ares," said Harry again, the name smoothly coming out of his lips.
Ares licked his lips and looked away, letting go of Harry's hands.
"I ignored you because.." Harry took a deep breath. "I dunno. I just seemed kind of weirded out that we were kind of friends."
Ares scoffed again. "You don't want to be friends with a Riddle. Obviously."
"No," Harry shook his head, "I don't."
Ares looked back at the boy, a hint of hurt passing through his eyes. He turned around and was about to leave, but Harry made him turn back around and—
He put his lips on the boy's lips.
Ares's eyes widened in shock, but within just a second, he closed his eyes and kissed the boy back while putting a hand on the boy's jaw.
He could not help it. It was a bad idea, kissing Harry Potter back, but he truly, truly could not help it. He tried to stop. He really did. But he couldn't. It was addicting.
Harry felt butterflies in his stomach. He continued kissing the boy.
When they pulled away, they put their foreheads on top of each other.
Harry smiled. "That was—"
Ares pulled away, his eyes widening. He was breathing heavily. He looked away and rushed down the spiral staircase.
Harry's shoulders slumped.
He didn't expect anything else from the boy.
But his eyes also widened as he realized what he did.
He kissed Ares Riddle.
"Oh no," muttered Harry, putting his hands on his head. "Oh, no.. oh, no.." he kept repeating over and over again.
He liked Ares. That was obvious.
But he truly was so dumb, to the point that he had kissed the boy.
The boy, whose father was the reason of his parents' death.
Oh, he was going mad.
Harry Potter was going absolutely mad.
