Alice and Lia got up from where they lay on the floor, the two of them stood up having fallen asleep next and each other while giggling and laughing. Alice stirred and felt herself awake from off Lia's stomach. She flicked her hand in a round motion and fireball appeared. Lia slowly, carefully opened the door to dorm and the two of them walked along down the corridor. The two of them met no entity until they reached the staircase. Miss Woolton was diligently grading papers in her softly illuminated classroom of magic.
Miss Woolton lifted her head, Alice and Lia ducked down, Alice grabbed Lia's hand in surprise. Alice quickly let go and casually tucked her hair behind her ear. Alice and Lia then had the hardest job of all. They crawled down the stairs and down to the bottom of the stone staircase.
"Now what!" Lia whispered, her voice dripping with annoyance. Alice grabbed Lia's wrist firmly and launched a fiery ball towards the lamp in Miss Woolton's room. Miss Woolton turned her head to the lamp and Alice and Lia dashed past the door, down the corridor. The two of them - sweaty palms and hearts still racing - tip toed along the long corridor.
Finally, with bated breath the two of them opened the library door. Alice, still gripping Lia's perspiring wrist, entered the library with confidence. She lightly tapped on the books, causing the creaky door to swing open, revealing a charming loft room bathed in the soft glow of candlelight.
"What the-" Lia began, but Alice stuck her hand over her mouth and dragged her up the stairs. Everyone was there all of them sat down having been waiting for the pair.
"Finally," Emily said before looking at their hands, "Why you holding hands I thought you hated each other's guts.""Well I don't anymore" Lia said as if it was obvious however quickly removing her hand from Alice's grip
"She infiltrated my thoughts, but yes, we are friends again."
"Right? So you didn't kidnap Aya" Emily said unimpressed
"No! "Obviously not." Alice said pissed off
"Calm down it's alright, now if we've convinced Lia, then we still have some of you to convince, the timeback spell." Harry said pulling out a small blade and sample bottle. "Alice, would you?"
"Surely we don't need to, just believe her!"
"No, prove it" Maggie pushed
"Yeah go on" Abby said still unconvinced of Alice's innocenceAlice felt a pit of nerves form in her stomach as she walked over to the wooden, important looking chair beside Harry.
"Put your wrist out" Harry said before Iggy laid a shiny, white water bowl in front of her. Alice apprehensively out on the chair, knowing what was coming next.
"Sorry, what are you doing" Lia said looking confused and concerned
In order to perform the timeback spell, it is crucial for us to obtain blood by cutting her wrist.
"Use mine! I've seen everything right from her brain, right? I know she's innocent, and maybe I'd have more success convincing you lot" Lia said
"If you want" Harry said. Lia sat down in the chair, this puzzled Alice, why would Lia subject herself to pain, for her?
Harry grabbed the sharp blade, while Lia exposed her wrist, revealing the prominent veins. Her skin was adorned with intricate veins, delicately coursing through her body. Harry pulled the blade over Lia's fine, uncut skin. Blood flowed from her pale skin, Lia showed no signs of discomfort from this cut, she seemed fine. Harry took the sample bottle and took the blood. Iggy handed Lia a generous-sized plaster, which she promptly applied to her bleeding wrist. Harry dribbled the blood into the white water and the water became misty as if it was a watery fog.
Everyone sat in silence as the water became a clear image as if playing off a TV. Everyone saw Lia and Aya making out to begin with, Alice felt a small feeling of discomfort but ignored it not thinking much of it. Everyone was captivated by the replay of the truth or dare game, especially the moment when Aya suddenly ran off and Lia's stunned reaction upon witnessing it. Alice was filled with immense pain upon hearing the names that had been directed towards her. Lia must have seen her as she walked over to Alice in the corner of the room and leaned on Alice's shoulder to comfort her.
The vision concluded, leaving everyone in unanimous agreement that Alice was indeed innocent.
"We shall vote then, who thinks we should collect more evidence and present the case to the head however report Aya missing as of tomorrow morning " Everyone raised their hands.
"Who thinks Alice should be reported, and we should push the case that she is the kidnapper." Not a single person had the courage to lift their palms. Alice smiled.
"Well that's the meeting concluded then, I'll see you tomorrow evening with any news or evidence you've collected."
"Wait!" Lia said as everyone rose from their seats, "Are these meetings every night?"
"No, just when necessary." Harry said before clicking her fingers and disappearing from the room. Alice hadn't learned how to ping yet so she had to walk unlike everyone else. Alice new pinging wouldn't make to much of a difference it was only across the school however it was often taxing to have to walk across the long hallways when everyone else could click their fingers and appear. Sadly -even though everyone else was considerate and some people still didn't get things - Alice didn't get most things and felt left out and uncultured.
