MK didn't really understand what it means to be Monkey King. Sure he gets the gist of it. Be brave! Be strong! Help others when they need it the most! He got the idea of it. That was all MK thought he really had to do to fill in the role as the next Monkey King. But to be fair, Wukong never really explained a lot to him about filling in his shoes.
All he did was explain how much of a good job he is doing, what he was doing wrong, how to use a technique during their training sessions. But he never really sat down and had a talk on how to fill in the roll. And for the most part, MK was okay with that. He just knew that he had to help others and be the hero everyone expected him to be.
So when he heard someone crying, he couldn't ignore it. Staff in hand, he crept over to where the sound was coming from. It sounded like it was coming from behind a huge rock. Taking a breath, he peaked over to see a...little girl crying. MK of course panicked, "W-Whoa! What are you doing down here??"
The girl, understandably, lets out a terrified yelp as she tries to make herself look smaller, "S-stay back!-" She finally lifted her head up to meet MK's eyes, "Y-Your...you're the Monkie Kid!"
MK showed her a small grin, "Well this makes things a little easier," His nerves slipped away a little, "We have to get out of here-" He was then interrupted by the girl wrapping her arms around him, shaking in terror.
"Please! You have to help me! We don't have a lot of time!" She cried for him. Before MK could ask any questions, they heard a strange noise coming from down the spider tunnel. The frightened girl quickly hid back behind the rock like it was the only thing that could protect her from where that noise came from.
MK looked at her. With a small smile, he walked over to her. He sat down next to her and wrapped his arm around her shoulders, like how Monkey King would do whenever he tries to comfort him. MK seems to be missing him a lot recently...
"Hey, it's okay...I get it, it's scary being alone, but you are not alone anymore. You got me and we will find a way out of here together, I promise," The girl slowly lifted her head up, to look at the monkie kid. He really was a good kid.
As they were both getting ready to head out for a way to escape, the girl softly gasps, "W-Wait...you're the Monkie kid..." Her terrified face turned into a determined one as she quickly got onto her feet, "You have to follow me!" Without another word, she began to run deep into the spider's lair, exactly where MK didn't want to be.
"W-What??" MK got on his feet and quickly followed the girl close behind, "Wait! We really shouldn't be here!" Luckily the girl seems to stop, which made it easier for MK to get in front of her quickly, "We have to go now, its dangerous for you-"
"B-But we can't go yet! Spider queen is building something...evil.." She whimpered, pointing behind the monkey boy. MK turned around to see some sort of weird mech being built. It looked more like a hologram, maybe its in the works. If he destroys it quickly then it will stay in the works. For good.
"She's planning something, and it has something to do with that..." She continued, "I've seen you use your staff...maybe you can use it to smash it?
The boy slowly lets out a deep breath, "Yeah...we don't want spider queen to finish what she started." He turned to face the girl, "Maybe you should step back, please," He suggested it to the girl before turning his view back to the machinery. Staff in hand, he used it to push himself forward to destroy this thing once and for all, but as he was about to finish the final blow, his reflection from the machine changed. The reflection, they all looked, panicked, in a worry, trying to stop him from going through with this any further.
MK stopped right on his tracks, "Wait! Is this...this is the trigram furnace! From the celestial realm! How-"
"You have to destroy it!" The little girl pleaded, but the boy just ignored her, he had a bad feeling about all this. He had to trust his instincts. He slowly closed his eyes, opening his eyes in a flash to use his gold vision. As expected, blue ghost like smoke started to come out of the furnace, with bones floating around inside.
