There aren't many things that can make Sun Wukong, the great sage equal to heaven, feel so hopeless. Lost the battle and his brothers to the Jade Emperor? Stung but he got over it... Being stuck under a mountain for five hundred years? Only left his back sore for a while. Being forced to wear the circlet and had to protect a monk? He grew to care for the monk and his new found brothers along the way so it wasn't entirely too bad...Losing said brothers and monk he once called his master? He understood why they wanted to pass on. Of course he was devastated but he respected their wishes...Killing Macaque...
...
He hasn't really forgiven himself for that yet...will he ever?
But the point is, Wukong never knew that he would be standing at the edge of a flying ship, having to wear a bandage around his head, clenching on the rail so tight on one hand, his knuckles began to turn white, while with his other, clinging on his student's bandana and starring off as he watches the Lady Bone Demon's mech slowly getting smaller and smaller as they fly off to safety.
Where his kid is...
It was all his fault, wasn't it? He left the kid all alone. Maybe if he had warned him about the lady bone demon and what she is capable of. Maybe then MK wouldn't be in this mess. Maybe if he took care of the bone demon rather than follow his master's orders many years ago. Maybe MK would have been safe if he wasn't his student...
Even with that thought, he was still selfish to think that he didn't want that to happen. He hates to admit it, but he grew fond of the boy. He doesn't know what he is to him or how he thinks of MK...But he knows that he cares for him...
And would do anything for him.
But he failed practically the only person he cared about the most. He failed him and he is now in the hands of someone very dangerous. If only Wukong wasn't such a screw up..
If only Wukong wasn't such a burden-
"Yo...maybe relax on the rail there, bud,"
Wukong gasped softly as he turned to see Macaque next to him, looking down at Wukong's hand. Wukong looked at where his eyes were directed and see that he...accidentally bent the rail with his hand.
Wukong groaned softly in annoyance and quickly pulled his hand back.
"Right sorry...my mind is all over the place..." He sighed and looked back to see the mech was long gone. It was long gone actually. They had been flying for quite a while now, maybe it was his mind playing tricks on him.
"How is uh...how is Mei?"
Macaque sighed as he placed his arms on the rail, leaning forward as he scratched head, "Not that great...She locked herself in the bathroom and doesn't want to come out, no matter what anyone does. I mean I could go in and drag her back here but I think she needs her space," He snorted softly and gave the king a slight grin "Out of everyone. You two are full on messes,"
With that said, he summoned a shadow portal from the air and quickly stuck his hand in. Pulling it out, along came a peach in his hand. He passed it onto Wukong with a little toss. Making Wukong fumble with the catch. Once he caught it, he looked down at the peach, looking back at Macaque with a deadpan expression.
"Wow, thanks," He said with a hint of sarcasm...and sincerity.
Macaque chuckled slightly as he looked at the view of clouds passing along as they flew by. Wukong was...surprised to say the least. Macaque hasn't tried to spew insults at him or tried to start a fight or anything. Their relationship hasn't...been the best for many years. That is probably a big understatement. So Wukong found it odd. But he's not really in the mood to start anything so he isn't going to bother. But he is curious...
