"Hoot hoot hoot hoot hoot... Hoot hoot hoot hoot hoot... Hoot hoot hoot hoot hoot..." Snored the bird-worm, blissfully unaware that he was everyone's sleep-paralysis demon. Eda punched the wall in frustration. Hooty had never been this loud before. "MMMHHHHH..." Was all she could manage. She was hurting in her throat, but the pain was pretty distracting from the infinitely louder snoring of Hooty. Eda didn't bother tip-toeing down, considering everyone except Hooty was already awake. She heard some muffled ruffles from upstairs, followed by a groan of something in Spanish. Luz wasn't fairing much better. She turned the corner, and saw King bashing his head into the wall. His skull seemed fine, so she didn't interfere. Unsurprisingly, she was having trouble hearing the bangs, as he was quiet compared to the THUNDER that was Hooty's snores. She heard him mumble "-Horrific voice. That horrific voice. Make it stop..." Great. Now there were 3 people unhappy with the snores. Now, she would be labeled as a hero. She snorted, though no one could here her, except for her. "Rainy-poo is gonna love this story..." She said, not caring how loud she was. It didn't matter. What mattered was stopping those atrocious noises. She finally got to the door. She opens it. She walked to the outside, turned around, and screamed. Hooty didn't hear. Hooty hear nothing. Not even his own infernal snoring, which caused suffering to so many. "Hooty! Please... be quiet! A mama Eda needs her sleep, ya know!? HOOTY!" She kept trying to wake him up, to no avail. The door opened again, but less forceful this time. Lilith stepped out quietly, despite the fact that she had no reason to. Excuse me, sister, but may I try something?" "Nah, it's fine! I've got everything under control, HOOTY, SHUT UP!" "Eda, excuse me." Lilith moved Eda aside. She stood, and knelt down in front of Hooty, who was still snoring. "Luz taught me this human song. I think I remember all the words correctly. Ahem," She hugged Hooty's "head" in her arms. "Hush, little Hootsifer, don't say a word, and mother will buy you a laughing bird. And if the stocking bird doesn't sing, mother will buy you a dying ring." She did this for a few minutes, and Hooty's snoring progressively got quieter and quieter, until he wasn't snoring at all. Eda's eye twitched. Perhaps her sister was more than met the eye. Lilith stood up, and gave a smug glance to Eda. "What do you say, Edalyn?" She said in a voice that Eda swore sounded like her mom. "Ugh, THANK YOU, Lily." Lilith's smug grin turned into a warm, genuine smile. Suddenly, a loud sound rattled. Hooty's "head" fell into the dirt. And once again, he was snoring. But instead, it sounded more like "Lulu lulu lulu lulu lulu... Lulu lulu lulu lulu lulu... Lulu lulu lulu lulu lulu..." Eda screamed, though no one could hear her. Suddenly, she got much bigger, her eyes glossed over black, and her fingernails became claws. Her teeth sharpened, and her hare became a matted mane. The owl-beast screeched, though Lilith could only hear it fully, as King and Luz could just hear a groan. The owl-beast unfurled it's wings with a loud SLAP, and then flew off into the night, very quickly. Lilith then sung to Hooty again, but for longer. Eventually, he quieted down, though he didn't stop snoring. Lilith didn't mind. She was happy that even in sleep, he was thinking of her.
