A family of two, whom was once a family of three, has grown massively popular throughout the years, impacting the wonderful view that society has seemed to be. "Abnormal" was now the new normal, thanks to their wonderful new inspiration. A key source of all their problems washing away at the seams.Years pass by, now in the year 20XX, machines of all sorts were being showcased almost every year by their wonderful new scientist and well found engineer.
The wonderful and ambiguous scientist was named Richard Orion Whitlock (specifically the Third); generation from generation, the smarts and ambitions were passed down the Whitlock legacy and brought straight into their next protege's hands, in which he would use those hands to create and build wonderful things.
Richard had definitely made use of these skills, and had built himself an entire career of Science and Engineering, putting the two together, he was able to give out to the world much more than he had imagined.
He was in their eyes; an icon, a legend, someone who has changed the world seemingly for the better..
Orion always had a face for the public; big smiles, gentle eyes, and a soothing voice to drive people wild whenever new inventions and ideas were showcased. He wasn't so smiley behind closed doors though. I mean the man was a scientist and working 24/7, he has no time to tend to unnecessary needs for the sake of his studies. It was all going to be worth it! He was happy, his family was happy, and nothing else could ever get in his way..
Nothing.
But of course, there was always some sort of downfall within his success at times, but none the matter, he could easily let it slide. However, one of his biggest "slip ups" was his testing for the supernatural. He was sure that it was bound to work, his biggest project yet... but that had failed. Miserably.
After an entire debacle, lines were drawn, ties were cut, and hearts were broken. He had made sure that nothing was ever going to get in his way, not ever again.
His project wasn't going to just go down in shambles just because of a few mishaps. It was going to work, one way or another, and even if he couldn't complete it in his timeline, at least he had a backup plan in case. One that was void of failure.
He was going to bring everything back to how it was; happy, and under control.

Gruffed steps echoed amognst the metal, hands are placed onto the table as he looks down, lips pursed as his coat drags behind, tattered with stains and charred burns from previous experiences. An employee waits behind him, waiting for command. He sighs.
"Keeping away all distractions was harder than I thought it would be. Who knew the outside world would be so.. oblivious. To fall graciously at a man's shoes who's done nothing but give is pitiful."
"What should we do with D65J-XX04 then? It already failed once. It caused irreparable damage for our mission at hand."
"Nonsense. I'll jus tweak it a bit.. but for now, just put it in the security chamber to the right. You know the code to get in. It's the white glowing one by the way, amongst the other machines."
The man walks towards one of the computers. Upon pressing a button, it slowly opens a door, leading down a vast hallway that whirred with wires and security cameras. Following inside, you could see dozens upon dozens of tanks filled with liquid, one of them hiding behind a giant lock of chains and a sheet cover.
The employee walks forward, curious about the certain specimen that laid under the covers, but the man slaps them away, his teeth gritting.
"What have I told you about getting curious in my office? I hope you know you're on the brink of demotion."
"My apologies sir. I must've forgotten."
"Well that better not happen again.. but if you must be so curious. What is under this sheet is going to be a big step forward for us.. well for me, don't know what you'll do about it."
"Looks quite enlightening sir."
"Yes, enlightening indeed. Enough about that, aren't you supposed to be returning D65J-XX04?"
"Right sir. But just a few questions; what will you do if it fails? What will you do if you can't perfect it in the time that you are here."
"It won't. My mission is far too deep for any abnormalities to takr place and disrupt. As for the second question, you already know that I have a second plan in motion. We learn from our mistakes, you know this."
"What if this isn't really worth it as you think it is?-"
"Are you going to do your job or are you going to ask me unnecessary questions to keep me distracted? You don't want us to fail again do you!?"
His hands slam onto the table, he didn't need to be told twice. He was going to try, no matter what it took and no matter who was in his way. It was his only hope of ever having the perfect life.
"Apologies sir, but one more thing.. what if he doesn't confide?"
"Please Elaine. He doesn't have a choice.."
End Of Prologue.
