Slitherbeast scares

Amity regresses after her siblings get captured by the slitherbeast.

Eda is there but doesn't have any of her fun attitude because my motivation was starting to end and I wanted to get this done.

Amity watched as her siblings tried to stop the slither beasts' rampage. Ed and Em made sure they were protecting Amity while stopping the beast. Ever since they found out that their little sister almost died from the library incident, they realized that they went too far and apologized to Amity. 

Even though she didn’t show it, Amity actually did like the constant overprotectiveness that they had. It made her feel the love she never got from her parents. Although, they did always make sure she was healthy and always reminded her that they loved her, even if they could go overboard at times. Even before the incident, they made sure to try to be good siblings.

Back to the scene, Eda was heard yelling at the twins to finish the slitherbeast off. So Amity decided that she could help. However, when she went to attack the beast, her wand stopped working. She shot an angry question at Luz. When it came out, she knew it was wrong. It wasn’t even Luz’s fault and she shouldn’t be taking her anger out on her. It was Amity’s fault for being so weak and needing to use a baby class item. 

The beast got free from the twins and knocked the three of them down. It scooped them all up but Amity had fallen through the fingers.

“Edric! Emira!” She yelled to them, however, the Slitherbeast took them away before they could fully answer her back.

“No, no, no, no, no, no!” She panicked. Sitting on the ground with her knees tucked into her chest, she began panicking. She needed her sibling. They were the only ones who showed her love. If they died, who would comfort her after a nightmare? Who would make sure she sleeps and eats? Who would show her unconditional love? Who would read her a bedtime story when she… regressed. 

‘Oh no’ Amity thought, knowing any second now she would begin slipping. It was super hard to stay calm and big. This whole situation was scary and her anxiety was not helping.

Luz stood there confused. She was feeling very guilty and full of shame, but she was also very confused with Amity’s behavior. Amity didn’t seem like the type to have mental health problems. She always acted stuck up and fake. But now, she was full of emotion and sadness. Then, Luz heard Amity’s breathing pick up. She sounded close to hyperventilating. But Luz turned this into a way of learning Amity’s real personality without her built up walls. Maybe she would open up to her.

“Hey, its going to be okay.” Luz tried to help her.

“Nu, its not!” She yelled at her, putting her hands up to her earmuffs as a way of comforting herself.

“My sibbies are gone now!!” She screamed and started to hit her head. Now was not the time for her to slip. Especially not in front of Luz, the cute human girl.

Luz’s eyes widened at the hitting. That was not healthy, and Luz knew it. She also noticed Amity’s lisp, which made her even more confused.

“Hey, hey! Calm down, Amity,” Luz came into her view and held her hands, trying to stop her from hitting herself.

“They gone!! I wan them back!” She began crying uncontrollably

Amity was starting to squirm around and kick her legs. Luz knew she wouldn’t listen to her, so she apologized in advance before embracing her into a bone crushing hug. She held and rocked her as she cried to calm her down. This usually helped Luz when she was having a meltdown.

Finally, Amity began to calm down. The hug felt really nice and she always loved being held. 

“What happened? You're not usually like this…” Luz pulled away. The way she was acting reminded her of something she read about online.

“M sorry… i gots a stupid coping mechanism and i couldn’t contwol it…” She drew in the snow with a twig, nervously.

“Don’t be sorry, we have reasons we cope. What is it called?” 

Amity hesitated before barely whispering, “Age regwession…”

Ah. so thats what it was. She slightly remembered it as when a person mentally regressed as a way to cope.

“Thank you, Ami. I promise that everything will be okay. You know why?” Luz asked in a baby talking voice

“Why?”

“Because i'm going to help you save your sibbies!” She booped the green haired girl’s nose, which made her giggle.

“How we gonna do that?” she asked, lightly biting her hand.

“I have a plan. Follow me!” She stood and helped amity up before leading her into the cave

The two went into the slitherbeast cave and Luz told Amity her plan. She barely got any time to ask any questions before Luz went into her part.

As Luz distracted the beast, Amity went to free her siblings. 

"Eddy! Emmy!" Amity ran into her siblings, a couple tears running down her face.

"Aw, did you regress, Mittens?" Em asked.

"Yea, bu Luzzy help me!" She explained.

"Okay, Mittens. Can you try to free us? Use that spell we were practicing!" Ed said.

"Bu' I don't have my wand!" Amity complained.

"You can do it without it! I believe in you. And when we get home, we'll change you into jammies and we can cuddle with hot cocoa," Em bribed her. This gave Amity a boost of confidence. She tried the fire spell but at first, it didn't work. However, she finally got it on her third try! She got her siblings down and they hugged her. Then Edric pulled Amity onto his shoulders. She giggled happily, feeling smaller now.

"We need to get out of here!" Luz yelled while running towards them. The slitherbeast was chasing after her.

"Hold on tight, Ami!" Edric warned before running out of the cave with everyone else following them.

The Blights stood by and checked on Amity while Eda made the beast fall asleep.

After going through a whole checklist, Edric and Emira hugged their sister tight. They were worried about her even more than she was worried about them.

"Hey, Amity, if you ever want to relax and be Little, the owl house is always open." Luz came over to them.

"Fanks, Luz. Can we do azuwa book cwub later?" Amity asked.

"Of course, Mittens," Luz ruffled her hair.

Ed and Em then stood in front of Amity, as if they were protecting her.

"You tell a soul about this, and you're dead, Human. You treat her bad or judge her? dead," Edric threatened, puffing his chest out.

"Y-yes, Sir!" Luz said.

"Good," Emira responded. But they realized Luz wasn't looking at them. She was looking behind them. So they turned around and saw Amity sitting down in the snow with her legs apart in a very childish position. She was playing with the white snow and smiling. But when she tried to eat the snow, the twins stepped in. 

They had a cute little montage of playing in the snow with Amity before they packed everything up. Even though her regression started bad, it definitely ended good.
