Friday - Practice day, Qualifying and Race day
Nat
Jade, Luke, and I go to our seats in the RedBull garage towards the back as the engineers and mechanics do their thing and watch the practice and make sure everything is in line with the cars. Even though this is just a practice it is always nerve-racking when they get in the car and have laps where they go full speed to get the top spot.
Soon enough everyone's car is on the track so it is getting pretty busy.
The drivers that had a big lap then do a cool-off lap and just gently go around the track and try their best to give space for the drivers that are going 200km/h around them. We wait patiently looking back at the screen and onto the track where the cars are driving around, looking at the ladder and seeing where everyone is and their times.
All the screens then start to turn to Max as he makes his way through turn one as the practice comes to an end. Charles at the moment was first, Daniel was closely behind Charles.
It is funny sometimes. The guys are all good friends off the track and are there whenever you need them and they always have a good time with each other. But when it comes to the race track they all want to kill each other, whether someone gets in the way or pushes them off the track, but they all make up for it and support each other even though they may not be happy with the result that they got.
The flag is waved and everyone is on their final lap before coming into the garages.
Max going at it in a straight line, with Charles behind him. Everyone is going at it for this last lap. Daniel takes P1 and everyone cheers. Then Charles and Max came around the corner and the times were added.
+ Charles Leclerc for the first time since Monza 2019 has taken P1 for the practice!
= Max Verstappen closely behind with a gap of 0.011 seconds!
I stand up and start to dance around in a little circle incredibly proud of my two favorite guys. I run out of the back of the garage with Luke and Jade following close behind. We run over to the start of the pitlane where everyone is either after practice, qualifying, or the race. The car with the position to you parks the guy just behind the sign of the position.
I see Charles exit the car and he goes to Charlotte first giving her a massive hug. I go over to them and jump on top getting in the hug. I am with my people. I then feel a tap on my shoulder.
"Are you going to congratulate your brother or what?" Max says. I then pull him into my embrace and hug him tightly.
"Congratulations Max. You did amazing." I say to him. He then hugs me tighter. "Alright, you and Charles need to go and do the interviews."
Max pulls away and nods in response. We then both walk over to Charles and I hug him as well.
"Wait for a second. Who got third?" I ask. They then all look back to the boards and start to smile. I look at them curiously before turning myself. "DANIEL GOT THIRD!" I run over to him and hug him as well.
"Congrats Danny! You deserve it!"
"Thank you, Nat, I worked hard."
"Next is Qualifying."
Even though this may be a practice every little step in the right direction is all that matters. I pull away and he hugs his team and the guys before walking over to do some interviews as well.
I walk over to Luke and Jade who are standing congratulating Max and Charles before their interview.
"Right, you two shall we get ready for you know?" I ask them with an evil grin. They both nod excitedly. I then smile taking their hands into mine. "Jade you are getting ready with me and then we are going to meet Luke in the lobby."
