The school auditorium rang with a silence louder than the shrillest scream.
Everyone was sitting stock still, shocked to the bone. No one was brave enough to speak into the silence. The police had serious expressions on their faces.
At this point in time, no one in this school was safe. No one could handle more bad news.
That's when it happened. The bell rang, cutting into the silence, signifying the end of school.
"You are dismissed." The principal said curtly, then turned away and began to discuss something with his teachers.
"Oh, by the way," he turned back to the mic.
"If these murders do not stop, the school faculty will have no choice but to close down the school."
At this, the students began muttering among themselves again, and many shot each other looks. The vast majority shot each other looks of distrust towards the girls. It had started.
??? POV:
Now this is an unexpected turn of events. Everyone now does not trust each other, believing one of them is a killer. Of course no one would suspect me, I'm too well hidden. Now that I murdered someone, I might as well just continue. Besides, I have a few people I was thinking of recruiting...
After School
"Well, I'm actually not that worried. I don't think I am a target of the killer. I have not wronged anyone. But her killing that officer proves that she would kill to keep her secret hidden." Marco observed.
"Quiet! Do you want to jinx yourself?! In these times, quit joking!" Aemilia swatted his arm.
"Alright, alright, but did you have to hit so hard? It hurts!" He pouted at her.
"Fine, I'll rub it for you." Aemilia grabbed his arm and massaged it.
"You two, we are discussing something important and this is NOT a place where you display affection."
Marco and Aemilia shot eye daggers at Julias.
"You're one to talk." Marco griped. "I see how you look at Patrine."
"Shut it, you two." Aemilia snarked at them.
"I'm literally so done with you all." The rest of the group said in unison.
What the group did not know was that a figure was following them, though it was not obvious. This person was very careful not to raise suspicions by following them discreetly, and not trying to hide themselves. By doing so, they went unnoticed by the public.
Later
"What are you doing here, Alessi?" Andrea spotted Alessi going into the same cafe as them.
"Why? Just here to grab a bite to eat. Anything wrong with that?"
"Nothing, nothing at all." Andrea narrowed her eyes.
Alessi rolled her eyes at them, got a bagel, then left, with a tinkle of the bell at the door.
Suddenly, a car with tinted windows pulled up and screeched to a stop next to her. The door opened and before she could even react, two buff and beefy men covered her mouth with a cloth, and dragged her in the car. No one saw it.
Grabbed. Snatched. Gone.
Meanwhile
"Hurry, don't let them see us!"
Not many knew it, but many organisations were at play here. An unusually high number. Normally she would just have killed off someone from a different organisation, but an assassin against all the powerful organisation could only do so much.
Luckily she had her companions with her today.
Thank the heavens for that.
She saw a white car speeding towards the highway. "There! She yelled into her earpiece. Capture her before it's too late!"
Her companions instantly began shooting at the white car with tinted windows.
The tires had gone flat, hence two people went out there to check.
"Hurry, now's our chance!" She yelled before she swooped in the car and snatched the girl away.
She had gone after that very girl, since she was captured by a well-connected organisation, she must have great value to either bribe, sell, or exploit.
"Alessi?!"
??? POV:
Great. This brat is always meddling in where she shouldn't be. She is of no value to me. But however, I should just finish her off. I wonder why did those people take her. Something bigger is at play here. Definitely. Something I cannot control. It might just be better if I hold her hostage, then we decide what to do with her. She plays an important role in helping us reach our goal.
"Well, let's order something to eat. I'm starving here." Antonio grumbled.
"Seriously? After what happened at school you still have an appetite? That's very impressive." Andrea remarked, raising an eyebrow.
"It's also acts as cover since we might discuss about it today. It's quite a topic." Antonio continued. Andrea raised her other eyebrow.
"I see. Well, let's choose a table then."
"It seems this case might never be solved. Honestly, it's best if we don't interfere, don't you think? I mean, who could possibly be the killer? I'm not sure if it's one of our allies in school, or an outside organisation." Julias speculated. "I highly doubt it is someone from our school, man. I mean, look at it. There are countless teenagers here, yes? It's probably some rogue, living on the streets, living off convenient store food or something, then went broke and decided to start stealing. I've seen this in films everywhere. Luca countered. "He does have a point, you know." Sofia said. "But the fact that a police officer has been murdered in our OWN school says something, that maybe the killer does not want to be discovered. But instead, she has made her identity more exposed to the police. They now know that the killer might have a high chance of being in our school."
Just then, a gunshot rang out.
