Author pov
The private jet hummed softly, a gentle vibration beneath their feet. Y/N sat beside Jungkook, her knees curled up slightly on the seat as she was engrossed in a fictional novel. Her brows were furrowed, lips slightly pouting as she flipped through the pages, totally lost in the story.
Jungkook had been working on his laptop, but his eyes kept drifting to her. He sighed, closing the laptop with a soft thud, a smile tugging at his lips seeing how adorable she looked—so absorbed, so unaware of how cute she was looking right now.
But then his gaze fell to her feet. His smile faded.
She was rubbing her ankle, and Jungkook noticed how the strap of her sandals had dug into her skin, leaving red marks. His jaw tightened.
Without a word, he leaned down and gently lifted both her feet onto his lap. Y/N gasped, startled by his sudden action.
“Kookie! What are you doing?” she asked, her eyes widening.
“Focus on your book, love. Let me do my job here,” he said calmly, though his fingers were already working on unbuckling the sandal straps with care, his face hardening at the red imprints on her soft skin.
As he took off her sandals, Y/N hissed softly in pain. Jungkook immediately looked up, his brows knitting in concern.
“Is it hurting?” he asked, his voice soft, almost guilty.
“Just a little…” she muttered, looking away.
He retrieved a small ointment from his travel bag and applied it gently, his fingers barely brushing her skin, as if she would break. After applying, he leaned in and pressed a soft kiss on her ankle.
Y/N felt her cheeks heating up instantly. She quickly lifted her book to hide her flushed face.
Jungkook, seeing her hide, suddenly panicked. “Y/N, what’s wrong? Is it hurting more? Tell me, love.” His voice turned urgent, laced with worry.
Y/N peeked from behind the book, blinking at his concerned face. “No… I’m fine. Just… embarrassed,” she smiled softly.
He exhaled in relief, shaking his head before gently massaging her feet, his large hands working slowly and with so much care it made her heart ache.
“Stop moving, sweetheart. You read. I’ll handle this,” he said, refusing to let go.

Time Skip — Hotel Room
Their hotel suite in London was nothing less than royal. Y/N had freshened up, now sprawled on the massive bed, snuggling into the cozy blankets. Jungkook, standing near the window, was on a call with his mother, assuring her of their safe arrival.
He glanced at her from time to time, a fond smile playing on his lips as he watched her drift into sleep.
After ending the call, he took a quick shower, drying his hair with a towel before using the dryer. The soft hum of the dryer mixed with Y/N’s gentle breathing, and for a moment, Jungkook felt a strange sense of peace.
Sliding into bed, he pulled her into his arms without waking her. His hand wrapped around her waist, pulling her flush against him, while his leg tangled with hers. He buried his face into her hair, inhaling her faint scent. He felt whole. He felt home.
“I’ll protect you, Y/N. You’ll never be alone again,” he whispered before sleep claimed him.

Jungkook woke up to find her still sleeping. He smiled and pressed a kiss on her forehead. He slowly untangled himself from her, careful not to wake her as he left the bed.
