“The world called him a CEO,
But in her silence, he craved to be just her Jungkook again.”

Y/N’s POV

It’s been a month since I started working with Jungkook. Today is important — a big meeting that could decide the future of our company.

“Y/N… we need to win this deal, or we’ll be doomed,” Jungkook mutters, his voice laced with nervousness as we walk side by side toward the conference room. His hand briefly brushes against mine, seeking comfort.

You glance at him and smile softly, “Don’t worry, Jungkook. This deal is already ours. Trust me.”

He nods hesitantly, trying to muster confidence, but you can feel his anxious energy.

As you both enter, bowing respectfully, Mr. Kim gestures toward you.

“Mr. Jeon, please begin the presentation.”

“Of course, Mr. Kim,” Jungkook says, his tone polite but tight. He takes his seat, his eyes flickering toward you as you stand to lead the presentation.

You explain every point with clarity, your voice calm and firm, ensuring every eye in the room is on you. Jungkook’s gaze never leaves you — watching with admiration as you handle everything like a true professional.

When you end, the room bursts into applause.

“I’m impressed, Mr. Jeon. This is a brilliant proposal,” Mr. Kim says, shaking Jungkook’s hand. “You’ve got the deal. Congratulations.”

“Thank you, Mr. Kim,” Jungkook replies, his lips stretching into a wide grin, but his eyes are only searching for you.

The room clears out, leaving just the two of you behind. Jungkook rushes toward you, arms wide open.

“Sweetheart, we did it!” he exclaims, pulling you into his arms and spinning you around like an overjoyed child who got his favorite candy. You laugh against his chest, holding onto him tightly.

Time Skip — The Threat

A few days later, the office atmosphere has shifted. Tension is thick.

“Boss… we’re getting a lot of threats from rivals. They’re demanding we drop the project,” an employee informs, his voice shaking.

“Calm down. They can bark all they want, but they won’t harm anyone,” you assure, standing beside Jungkook with authority. Your words ease the panic among the employees.

“But ma’am, should we consider dropping the deal?” another employee asks hesitantly.

You look at Jungkook, his jaw clenched in frustration, but you speak before him, “No. This project is crucial for our company’s future. We’ve come this far, and backing down is not an option. If they want a fight, they’ll get one.”

Your firmness ignites a spark in the team, and they nod in agreement.

“Alright, you can all go now,” Jungkook dismisses them.

Soon, only you and Jungkook are left in the office. As you both leave for the parking lot, a group of masked men approaches, surrounding you.

“Who are you?” Jungkook questions sharply.

“Don’t worry, Mr. Jeon. You’ll see our faces when you’re begging for your life,” one of them sneers. “Attack them!”

“Y/N, get in the car!” Jungkook orders, his protective instinct flaring.

“I’m not leaving you alone,” you refuse, your voice steady. Discreetly, you take out your phone and dial the police, leaving the call open.

A man lunges at Jungkook, but he swiftly grabs his arm, twisting it until a painful crack echoes, and lands a solid punch to his jaw. Another man tries to strike you, but you dodge, dropping your bag, and deliver a punch to his stomach, making him stagger. You spin around, landing a sharp kick that sends him sprawling to the ground.

More men charge, but you both fight side by side, knocking them down, bruised but not backing off. Jungkook’s lip bleeds, your knuckles sting, but none of you care.

Sirens wail as the police arrive. Officer Min Yoongi steps out.

“Mr. Jeon, Y/N, are you two alright?” Yoongi asks, his sharp eyes scanning the scene.

“We’re fine, Yoongi,” you respond, wiping sweat from your forehead.

“I’ll take care of this mess. You both should go home and rest,” Yoongi instructs.

As you and Jungkook walk to the car, he asks, “You know him?”

“Yes, he’s my neighbor,” you reply.

He chuckles softly, shaking his head. “Of course, you’d know the police officer. Lucky me.”

Once inside the car, Jungkook looks at you with a teasing grin, “By the way, you’re a good fighter.”

You smirk, “You’re not so bad yourself, Mr. Jeon.”

Both of you laugh, the tension easing as you drive away.

One Month Later — Company’s Rise

A month passes since the attack, and the rivals are now behind bars. Police have given you extra security until the project’s completion.

Weekends were no longer off; you both worked tirelessly. But it was worth it.

Today, the news finally came — JK Enterprise is now the 2nd most influential company in Korea.

The products are selling at an insane rate — over 10,000 units a day. The office is buzzing with energy. Jungkook is glowing with pride, practically bouncing in happiness, hugging you tighter than ever.

Of course, a grand party is thrown at the company. Employees are celebrating not just the company’s success, but also their bonuses and raises. The atmosphere is euphoric.

But amidst this success, your personal life with Jungkook has become... distant.

He now calls you by your name, not “Sweetheart.”
You both have breakfast and lunch together, but the time spent is more professional than personal. He’s busier than ever, working till late night, coming home exhausted.

You keep reminding him not to overwork, but he brushes it off, saying, “I want JK Enterprise to be No.1.”

Your mother-in-law and father-in-law shower you with praises, calling you Jungkook’s lucky charm. You always deny it, crediting his hard work instead, but they never listen.

Jungkook even gave you a new personal cabin, saying you deserve your own space now. You didn’t mind, but deep down, you missed sharing the same room with him, stealing glances in between work, those little moments that slowly faded.

Now, life feels like a constant loop.

The company is soaring.

But your heart… feels quietly waiting.
