“She became his quiet strength when the world failed him,
And he, in return, wore her name with pride — Mrs. Jeon.” ✨

You are in the kitchen, preparing dinner for everyone like always. Life after graduation feels... dull. You don’t mind cooking, but it's not like you’re doing all the household chores. You just cook, and that’s it.
Ever since you resigned from your online job before marriage, thinking it would be temporary, you’ve been restless. It’s not like you can’t find another job — but you just didn’t try.
You sigh, your mind drifting again.
Is this how it’ll be from now on? Just housework and waiting?
Your thoughts are interrupted by the doorbell.
You walk over to open the door, and there he stands — Jungkook, with a dull, exhausted face. His usual spark, that boyish grin that lights up your world, is missing.
You silently take his bag as he steps inside, his shoulders slouched, heading straight to the bedroom.
What happened to him? you wonder, but you know him well enough to give him space when he needs it.
“Aunt, can you please put the dishes on the dining table?” you ask one of the maids softly before heading to your room.
You sit on the edge of the bed, waiting as you hear the faint sound of water from the bathroom. After a few minutes, he comes out, towel drying his hair, his expression still heavy.
He walks toward you and, without a word, pulls you into a hug, burying his face into the crook of your neck. His arms wrap tightly around you, as if your embrace could shield him from the world.
You say nothing. You just hold him, rubbing his back gently. You know his moods — if he’s silent, it means something is troubling him deeply.
After a while, you whisper, “What happened?”
“Nothing, just work,” he mumbles, but you’re not convinced. You pull back slightly, cupping his face, making him look into your eyes.
“Jungkook,” you say, firm yet soft, “Tell me. What happened?”
His eyes lower, his shoulders drop. He looks like a child confessing his mischief.
“I lost a deal today… a big one. It was important for the company. I worked hard for it, but because of some mistakes, they backed out. Some of our employees are leaving too. It’s my fault.”
His voice breaks a little. It stabs your heart.
You sigh softly, pressing a kiss to his forehead. “It’s not your fault, Jungkook. Sometimes, things don’t work out because God has a better plan waiting. You’ll see… something bigger is coming for you.”
He nods against you, not fully convinced but comforted by your words. You stand up, gently drying his hair with the towel.
When you’re done, you place the towel in the bathroom, but as you return, you find him sitting on the bed with a deep pout still on his face, looking like a kicked puppy.
You sit beside him, taking his hand in yours. “Jungkook?”
He hums in response, not lifting his head.
“How about I work with you?”
His head snaps up immediately, eyes wide. “But what will you do?”
You stand up, walk to the cupboard, and pull out a file. Handing it to him, you smile. “Look at this.”
He opens it, eyebrows raising in surprise. “This is your CV?”
“Yep.”
“Sweetheart… you’re so impressive!” he exclaims, his face lighting up. “Did you work somewhere?”
“I used to work online… for JK Enterprise,” you say casually, watching his expression change.
“Wait— my company? You worked for me, and I didn’t even know?” he says with a pout, making you giggle.
You pinch his cheek. “Don’t worry, now I’ll work beside you.”
He places the file aside and pulls you into a tight hug. “Thank you, Sweetheart… for everything. For marrying me, for coming into my life, for feeding me the best food… just, everything.”
You chuckle softly, patting his back. “Alright, alright. Now let’s go have dinner.”
You stand up, extending your hand towards him. “Shall we?”
He takes your hand eagerly, his smile finally returning. “Yes, let’s go.”

Time Skip — At the Office
You’re sitting in Jungkook’s cabin now. He had a table arranged for you beside his, claiming he wanted you to work with him closely. You had no reason to refuse.
You’re busy going through previous company files, making notes, fully immersed in work when a sudden loud thud startles you. You look up to see his secretary barging in, wearing a short dress, strutting towards Jungkook’s desk.
“Mr. Jeon, here’s your schedule,” she says, placing it on his table with a fake smile.
Your blood boils. You’ve had enough of her constant attempts to seduce your husband.
“Don’t you have basic manners? You should knock before entering,” you say sharply, your tone cold and direct.
She freezes, slowly turning toward you, but doesn’t respond.
“What happened? Did you lose your voice, or do you need permission to speak?” you add, louder this time. She flinches.
“Y-Yes, ma’am… I’ll knock from now on,” she stammers.
You stand up, your gaze piercing. “Call me Mrs. Jeon from now on. Understood?”
She gulps visibly and nods.
“Good. Now, get out,” you say with authority, and she practically runs out of the office.
You exhale, turning to look at Jungkook, who is sitting there with his doe eyes, watching you like you’ve just performed a magic trick. His lips curl into a proud, loving smile.
You sigh, sit back down, and glance at him. “Do you want something?” you ask softly.
He shakes his head like an innocent child, his eyes gleaming with admiration, and goes back to his work — but not before sneaking a few more glances at his fierce, beautiful wife.
