The next day you were floating in the sky speaking to your new associate. You have only known them for a day, but in that time it feels as though you had a connection with them. Which made sense, especially how they described how their gem's wavelength actually matches yours as well.
Bort: So you destroy planets as well?
???: Yes. But unlike you, I am tasked to do it with a fleet. I do so under the orders of Blue Diamond.
Bort: Good to hear that the Diamonds are doing well. . . But, has no one on Homeworld mentioned me?
???: Hmm. . . There were times when Blue Diamond mentioned a gem that matches your description. I'm rather new, so I must have been born while you were stuck on that. . . earth. But she says that you and I are similar in many ways.
Bort: Interesting. You seem like an interesting entity. If only you could tell me what gem you are. I've never known other gems to have abilities like yours.
???: I have never heard of yours either. Manipulating the Gravitational flow of. . . well, everything around you. A truly fascinating ability.
You smile at the compliment as you think of more things to speak of.
Bort: So, how is your progress on your ETA?
???: Calm yourself Bort. I am still caught up here. The planet I am on has interesting lifeforms that require my attention. Some still resist our rule, so I will have to terminate them with max aggression. How are you fairing with those crystal gems?
Bort: They are. . . well. . . they are celebrating the young hybrid's birthday.
???: Birthday?
Bort: A birthday is a celebration of the birth of said lifeform that comes around once every year. Well, once every earth year. Which is how long this planet takes to revolve around it's celestial body in the center of it's solar system.
???: Hehehe. Such a strange custom. But I must ask. The planet is dying right?
Bort: Yes. I am trapped on a dying world. But, we. . . They are trying to stop the emergence of the cluster. Will that interrupt your plans? Or that of the Diamonds?
???: Of course not for me. Cluster or no cluster, once you and I come together, we will destroy the earth ourselves and erase it off of the star maps. Along with those crystal gems.
You recoiled a bit at the mention of destroying the earth.
Bort: Wait. But this planet still belongs to Pink Diamond? Must it be destroyed?
???: I understand your sentiment with the planet, but at the end of the day, the cluster was placed there by our diamonds. Our will is to serve them, so they clearly want the planet destroyed. You should know this.
Bort: . . . Yes. I just. . . Got sentimental because of Pink.
???:. . . I understand. You were there when they were shattered, and you were bested by a gem there. I myself have never been bested, but I can understand what honor you cling to.
You clench your fist as your hair stands up on end, revealing the glare of anger in your eyes. But you looked down and took a deep breath.
Bort: Yeah. She beat me. I guess.
???: Don't worry. There will be nothing but victories in our future. . . I must take my leave. Some organics are trying to stage a counter attack. Till we meet again Bort.
Bort: Signing off.
You look back at the earth as you let out a sigh. Floating back down from space, you look down at everyone as they seem to be celebrating Steven's birthday. But you didn't feel all that needed. Thinking it would be friendly to leave them to their own devices.
