When I got home, I put my stuff away in my room and lied down in my bed. I thought about today, from the moment I walked into the classroom, from when I watched Komaeda walk away. I blushed and cringed at everything I did, especially when I was around Komaeda. I was so uptight, it was like I had turned into a completely different person. But, now that I think about it, I was like that around almost everyone today. Maybe that's because they were all pressuring me a bit. But it's not like they meant to. They were all just . . . curious.
I stayed there, all sprawled out on my bed. I thought about everyone's personality. Komaeda seemed to be an easy-going kind of person, as well as Nanami, but Komaeda was a lot easier to make nervous. Koizumi was like a big sister, someone who is strict, but nice. Saionji . . . well, she had a bit of a foul mouth, but she seemed like a really good girl on the inside. Mioda was . . . Mioda. Owari seemed to be very straight-forward, and she also seemed to have a one-tracked mind. Nidai seemed like a very brave person, one that would do anything to reach his goals. Teruteru was too weird for words. Pekoyama seemed to be like the kind of person to keep to themselves, as well as Kuzuryu. Tsumiki seemed very timid, as well as clumsy. Tanaka was very self-centered, but he doesn't seem like a bad person. Sonia was very upbeat and outgoing, and Soda... well, I don't know much about him yet, but seems pretty cool, just like everyone else in my class.
My door suddenly opened. It was my mom. "Hey, why didn't you tell me when you got home? And why were you so late?" she asked.
"I just got distracted." I said, thinking about what happened after school.
"Well," my mom checked her watch, "we still got a while till' I need to make dinner, so why don't you tell me about your day?" She walked into the room and closed the door behind her.
"So, what was it like, being around all those Ultimates?" she asked.
"Well, a little nerve-racking, to be honest." I thought about when we were walking back to the classroom from rounding everyone up.
"Did you make any new friends?" my mom asked.
"2 or 3 of them, actually."
"That's good! Who are they, and what are they like?" she kept bombarding me with questions, as if she didn't know how to let up.
"Well, there was Chiaki Nanami-chan, who-"
"Isn't she that one YouTuber your always watching?"
"Yes. Anyway, she's the Ultimate Gamer. She's pretty straight-forward, but she seems really nice. There's also Mahiru Koizumi-chan- she's the Ultimate Photographer- she's kinda like the big sister of our class, as far as I can tell. There's also..." I trailed off.
"There's also what? Wait, is it a boy!?
"Mom..." I said, annoyed.
"Oh my gosh, it is, isn't it? Is he cute?"
"Mom! He's just a friend! And it's only the first day, there's no way I'd have a crush already..!" I said, but I knew that was an obvious lie, but my mom didn't seem to notice.
"Well, still. What's he like?"
"Well, it's a little weird, but he's the Ultimate Lucky Student- oh, and his name is Nagito Komaeda-kun, by the way."
"That is a little weird." she admitted.
"But that's not all! This morning, he came in with a bunch of bloody scratches on his face, and a baseball smacked him upside the head! But, him being the Ultimate Lucky Student, got lucky, and the person who ended up hitting the ball was the Ultimate Baseball Player, Leon Kuwata. As a way of saying sorry, he signed the ball that hit him!" I said, realizing now that I was getting really enthusiastic about this one event. I can only imagine the twinkle in my eye.
