Alexander POV

"You can see her." The nurse says, as I ran towards the door and stop right outside.

I take in a deep breath and open the door as my breath was caught in my throat.

She sat there, looking weak and fragile but eyes open and looking around.

"Elskan..." I whisper and was by her side in two long steps.

"Alex..." She speaks, with a faint smile on her lips as my knees give up and I fall by her bed, taking her soft hand in my own.

"I missed you." I say, looking up at her in the bed, while I kneeled down before her. It was when tears fell on our joined hands that I realized I had been crying.

"Our... Babies? The nurse said..." She was saying and stopped as if in pain.

"Hey, Hey... You rest. Don't speak much. Okay? The babies are fine. I named them Atharv and Reuben.   They'll be discharged soon." I say, as she nods and mouths the word 'nursery'.

"It's ready. The nursery is ready. Your mother is the chief designer behind it all. We men were the muscle. It's beautiful. And the paint has dried." I say and wipe more tears and kiss her hand again.

"I'll show you pictures... And I'll show you our sons..." I say taking a chair and sitting by her side. I take out my phone as she visibly awws at my lockscreen. It was the twins. I open the lock to reveal our wedding picture  and then move towards the gallery.

We sat there talking for a few minutes, or more accurately, I was talking while she expressed her emotions looking at what we had made.

"Atharv has eyes like mine but his nose is more or less like yours and Reuben, you should see him when he frowns in his sleep..." I was saying as I heard the heart monitor on her right, make a frantically loud noise.

I look up to see Raavi staring at the door. My gaze follows her's as I look up at Ekansh standing on the door with Daman.

Raavi looked at her father, her heart in her throat. Did she not want him here? No, but she has craved for his love so much over the past few months.

"Elskan? Should I... Should I get him out? Say the word?" I ask, holding her hand tighter.

The hospital staff comes running and shoves all of us out, while they tend to Raavi. I walk out of the room as Ekansh sat on the chair, with his head in his hands.

"You did this. You hear me?" I say to him, as he looks up. Daman keeps a hand on my shoulder as I take a step back.

"I think you should go home. I'll call you if she wants to see you." I say, as Tejas and Tejpartap run to us.

"She's up? Where's she? Why are you still outside?"

"She almost had a cardiac arrest when she saw her father. Her fragile heart almost couldn't take it." I say looking at the man infront of me.

I've known people that were scared at the mention of his name. I've known people that wanted nothing to do with anything that would involve going against this man.

This man.

This defeated old man with circles under his eyes, wrinkles on his face and pain in his heart.

"Alexander." Tejpartap stepped before me, as a shield to his father. Ekansh got up to go inside the ICU. as I run to stand as a shield infront of the door this time.

"No." I state with fire in my eyes as a nurse opens the door.

"She's calling all of you inside." She says, and walks in with us.

"Raavi, you... You okay?" I say and go to kiss her forehead, my grip shaky.

She nods her head and then cups my face with one hand. "I love you." She whispers as I reach forward and take her lips in mine.

They felt dry and different from her usual soft lips, but the sensation in my brain at having her back with me was too much of a sensory overload for me to care. I kissed her lips, moving my mouth over hers with my eyes closed.

We hear the clearing of a throat as her hand slides from my face to my chest nudging me away.

I take a step back and look at her blushing hard and avoiding eye-contact with her father who had the throat issue.

"Dad?" She says, looking at him questioningly. Maybe, she wanted to know why he was here? Had he forgiven her?

"Raavi." He says taking a step towards her. I stand in his way, our eyes meeting at level since we were almost the same height. "Tell him, to let me hold you." His voice was every bit as authoritative as a King's should be.

"I won't, dad." She says, as we were both shocked at the answer and turned to look at her. She reached for my hand as I slipped it in hers. "I'm his wife. Whatever decision he takes in regard to you, I will abide by it."

I have never in life made Raavi do something that she doesn't want. I have never put her in a position where she has to ask my permission.

"Raavi, you're my princess." He says, as I shake my head.

"No, she's my queen." I growled holding onto her hand tighter this time. "And nobody treats my queen in a way you did."

"Raavi, you can't let a boy that came into your life yesterday make a..." He was saying, as she spoke with all the strength her recovering body could gather.

"This man stood by me, when you didn't." She says, as I turn to look at her. Was she really doing this?

"I will let him make this decision for me. He chooses if you stay in my life or not." She says, as I nod at her.

"You can't see her until she's well and discharged. I don't... Whatever happened today, shouldn't happen again." I say trying not to think about it, as Ekansh wanted to argue but just took a step back and left the room. Daman took a step further, looking at her daughter slightly proud but also sad. But her elder brother spoke.

"Raavi, dad was also hurt when he told you to never come back. He suffered as much as you. You shouldn't..."

"It's not about suffering and pain." Daman spoke, while her daughter joined.

"It's about his ego. Is his ego still bigger than his love for me?" She spoke and looked at me, as it made sense.

"If Yes, he'd never allow a... 'Boy' like me to dictate the rules of his relationship with you but if yes..." I say nodding at my wife.

"He'll wait. He'll be patient this time. He'll want to know you, to understand you. He'll see the good man that you are and why I chose you. But if he can't... I think I have a family of my own and my mom and brothers are always a phone call away." Raavi says, as Tejpartap who was just sniffling in the corner runs to hug her.

"Ofcourse, we are. Always." He says, hugging his twin sister.
