"I'm Alex by the way." He said in his wierd accent, walking out after getting his stitches done as my friends from back home had a flight to catch to Canada and Grace had went to drop them off.
"You should be thankful that the bullet just grazed an artery. I thought it was lodged in there and would require a surgery. I wasn't even sure if you had insurance or I'd have to pay with your kidney?" I asked, as he chuckled. He was surely good with those pain meds they gave him.
"Yes, Raavi. I have insurance and I'm thankful and thanks for waiting. Come, I'll drop you home." He said as I had got up to move, but my feet stopped
"Who told you my name?" I asked, as he shrugged and winced at the pain in his arm.
"Your friend said it, on the way here." He said as I nodded, walking out with him.
"I don't need a ride. My friend will pick me up soon or I'll call a cab." I say, as he shook his head and gave me his phone.
"Call her and tell her to meet you at your house. I owe you this much." He said as I shrugged.
"Okay." I said and pulled my phone out from my jeans and shirt that I had changed into, from the back of Grace's car. My swimwear had no pockets, but when Grace gave me change of clothes, my phone came along.
I shot Grace a text and walked out with him.
"Do you still have a gun with you, or did you keep it in the car?" He asked as I rolled my eyes.
"None of your business." I said, and he flinched.
"Sorry. And Thank you for saving me today once again." He said, as I nodded as we walked out of the hospital and a black Range Rover with tinted windows stopped before us.
"That's our ride." He said opening the back door as I got in. The driver, named Richard asked for my address and I gave it to him keeping an eye on the road making sure he never deviated from the correct path.
The ride was silent as I had noticed Alex looking at me, from time to time.
I saw my building as Richard stopped the car and Alex wanted to get out and open the car door for me, i guess. But I kept a hand on his thigh.
"Don't. You've been shot. Just go home and rest." I said and turned to get down and leave the car.
"Raavi." He said, my name like it was his new favorite word. "We are holding a prayer ceremony as luncheon for my mom, tomorrow... And since you were the one that... Got her peace. I'd like you to attend." He said, as I nod in respect of the passed.
"Of course." I say as he smiles in understanding.
"11am tomorrow, Richard will pick you up." He said as I nodded and shut the car door behind me to walk into my apartment.

I regretted not telling him off instantly. I have this wierd thing where I am unable to say No, especially if I'm not given two working days to prep and practice mu choice of words in advance.
So, I was ready in a black jimmy choo jumpsuit, with biege heels and a thin strap Titan watch my dad had gifted me for my 17th birthday (along with 16 other things) when Richard pulled in and got down to open the car door.
I sat in as he started the car. "Hey. Richard." I said as he smiled.
"Hello, Miss..." he says as I complete the introduction.
"Raavi Sandhu" i say as he pronounces it thrice until he gets nearly accurate at the sound of my surname.
"So, how was she? Alex's mom?" I ask as he looks at the road with hints of remembrance.
