After a week, they were set to go to the river of Styx. They all went to their work place that morning in order to inform Dr Williams that they were set to go that very day. Williams was so excited that they all agreed to go without any complaints. He made it clear to them that no matter what happens they must find what is causing all this pain and suffering in their town so that they can put an end to it. Michelle on the other hand was really worried and whispered
"But if we don't make it out alive"
Bryan rebuked all her negative thoughts and decided to stay positive.
They all took few things hoping they would only be gone for few days.
Dr Williams handed them his personal bus and wished them farewell.
They drove off as soon as they entered. John was the one behind the wheels. The bus was rather to quiet for John.
"Why is this bus so quiet" he said
He stretched his right hand to turn on the car radio and adjusted the car mirror to admire his face.
"What the hell are you doing John" Michelle asked
"Well, gotta look cute for the ladies" he slightly turned his head back to respond to Michelle"How dumb are you? There's no ladies in the river of Styx" she yelled
"Oh, you are right. But you cannot predict who can be walking by" he smirked
Michelle was so annoyed at John's stupidity.
"Why did we agree to put you behind the wheel?" She said
Sara interrupts
"Just leave John. You will just keep stressing yourself" she said without fuss
Michelle turned her attention away from John.Lesley could not help but think about what will happen when they get to the river. She prayed dearly in her heart for herself and her crew that everyone will return home safely. As they were driving, they could see the sign indicating "leaving tenby, coming back soon" Lesley couldn't stop staring at the sign as they passed by. She was afraid they won't return.
"Guys, this is it" Bryan whisperedLesley sighed in response to Bryan. One hour past and they were still on the road. "Do you know the direction of where to pass" Lesley asked John
" of course, I do. I think we would get there soon." He said.By the time they approached the river it was already night fall and they all decided that before they journey on the boat it'd be better for them to rest. There was a cabin very close to the river and Sara suggested that they should all rest there. They all took their bags out of the bus and walked straight to the cabin.
As they were walking Bryan asked whether they had to journey deep into the river.
"This is just the beginning of the journey Bryan. Get used to it" Sara responded. Bryan's heart skipped a beat when he heard this. When they got to the wooden door of the cabin, it was half way closed. John pushed the door opened slowly. The door creaks as it opens. "Hello" John yelled
Don't be foolish, nobody can be inside" Lesley lowers her voice as she said
"You cannot just barge into someone's home like that" Michelle interrupts
" you are such a dummy. Move away!" Sara was tired of John's bickering and entered into the cabin. The rest followed her lead. The cabin was dark and they could smell something rotten.
Argh, what the hell is that smell?." Michelle saidSara went ahead to check where the awful smell was coming from. As she opened the door of a particular room, she stumbled on something. She couldn't be sure of what it was. It was too dark to see. She stood up immediately and noticed the awful smell was coming from what she just stumbled on. She already knew it was a dead body.
"Lesley! Guys! Get the torch" she criedThey all rushed into the room where Sara was. Lesley pointed the torch to the ground and they saw a dead man with coins glued to his eyes. Lesley's eyes watered as she saw this. She placed her palm over her widely opened mouth and the torch fell to the ground. They all covered their noises and couldn't look directly to the rotting body except Sara. She kept on staring at the body and this made her more angry and wanted everything to end soon. The body had been there for so long and no one realized. Michelle shivered in fear and became sweaty at once.
