Chapter 1

"Will you marry me?"

The prince of Inazuma loved those words. He has always wanted someone to say those words to him one day.

"Mother! I would like for someone to say those words to me!" he excitedly told his mother, the princess of Inazuma who is holding his little sister.

The princess chuckled and poked his nose. "you are a boy, dear. you are going to be the one saying those words"

He frowned, visibly upset by those words. He wanted to be the one that was asked to be married. Not the one that asks to marry. He just stayed quiet till the end of the play in disappointment.

"Don't be disappointed Kuniku, you'll be overjoyed once you grow up!" His aunt Makoto tried to cheer him up.

Kuni only clung onto his aunt's kimono. He could feel his aunt's hand ruffling his hair.

"Ku!" He could hear his sister calling out to him. He looked up at his sister who is in their mother's arms, reaching out to him.

"Aww! Do you want your big brother, Mei?" Makoto chuckled. "Ku!" She called out again.

Ei leaned down to Kunikuzushi's level and immediately the little prince reached out his little hands to take his sister into his arms.

"Ku! Kuni!" She giggled. Kunikuzushi couldn't help but smile and patted his little sister's back.

"Ei! Mei just said her first word! And it was Kuni!" Makoto cheered! Ei brought a hand to her chin. "Does that count as a word?"

They were interrupted when the main female lead of the play in front of them was stabbed. The male lead took her into his arms and brought her to his chest, weeping.

Kunikuzushi paid very close attention to the play. It was weird. An ordinary 5 year old boy would never be interested in love! They would be outside playing with friends.

Well, not the little prince. He was different than most kids his age. He could already solve multiplication at his age. He was far more intelligent than boys his age.

"Oh my! Kuniku, you are really into this, huh?" He heard his aunt chuckling.

"Well, I suppose it's better this way than him to act like commoners." Ei spoke wile eating a tricolour Dango.

"Oh Ei.... please don't say it like that."

"It's merely the truth, Makoto."

"My love.... please.... live your life without regrets....." the female lead caresses the male's cheek.

"My dear.... if we are reborn in our next life... and as humans.... Will you marry me?" The man said with fake tears in his eyes.

The woman gave him a weak smile. "Of course.... I'll definitely..... marry you"

The woman's hand fell from the ground. The man brought her face to his chest and cried.

Kunikuzushi couldn't help but want to be in love. He had seen many plays before. It's the main reason he got so into love anyway.

Everytime he went to a play, he came back home cheerful. However, everytime he went back home, he questions himself.

He has a body of a girl, but is said to be a boy. He had no idea what his role will be once he fall in love. Would he be the woman? Or would he be a boy?

Will he ever fall in love? He doubts it, but a prince can dream, right?

Mei has long fallen asleep in his arms. Oh, how he loved her. Her little grip on his kimono was adorable to say the least.

"Look at Mei! She's so peaceful in Kuniku's arms! She really loves her brother! To the fact that she would cry everytime you try to put her to sleep, Ei!" Makoto laughed.

Ei groaned. "Let's not talk about how my daughter hates me"

The prince didn't care what they were talking about. He didn't want to know. All that he know is that little Mei is in his arms and sleeping adorably.

He followed his family quietly and stepping very carefully to not wake his little sister. They arrived at Tenshukaku just a few minutes later.

Ei took little Mei from him and told him to go ahead and went to bed. So that was exactly what he did.

He laid on the futon bed with a little doll in his hands. He slowly drifted off to sleep, slipping away into dreamland.
