Exodus 1-3
In the land of Egypt, oppression reigned,
Where the Israelites, God's chosen, were pained,
Their numbers grew, their strength was feared,
So Pharaoh devised a plan, as darkness neared. He ordered the Hebrew midwives to slay,
Every baby boy born, without delay,
But faithful they were, with hearts full of grace,
They chose to obey God, and His righteous ways.Among the Hebrews, a mother gave birth,
To a baby boy, filled with God's worth,
She placed him in a basket, upon the Nile's breast,
Trusting God's plan, as her heart found rest.Miriam, his sister, watched from afar,
As Pharaoh's own daughter approached, like a star,
She saw the child, crying in the reeds,
And her heart was moved, by compassion's creeds. She took the child as her very own,
And named him Moses, a destined throne,
Raised in the palace, with splendor and might,
Unaware of his purpose, hidden from sight.Years passed by, Moses grew to a man,
But burdened he was, by Egypt's harsh hand,
He witnessed oppression, his people in pain,
A fire ignited, in his heart's terrain. One day, in the desert, a glorious sight,
A burning bush, consumed by God's light,
And from within, a voice he heard,
Saying, "Moses, go forth and be my word."With doubts and questions, Moses replied,
"Who am I to carry out this stride?"
But God assured him, with unwavering grace,
"I will be with you, every step, every place."In the land of Midian, Moses found refuge,
And there he met Zipporah, his love so true,
But God called him back, to Egypt's domain,
To set his people free, from oppression's chain.Exodus 1-3, a tale of hope and despair,
Where God's deliverance, He did declare,
Through the courage of Moses, His servant so brave,
God's power and love, His people did save.May this poem inspire your heart and mind,
To seek God's guidance, His purposes find,
In every chapter of Exodus, you'll see,
God's faithfulness, shaping history.
