And after a long silence, they cheer. Cheers and shouts ring throughout the plains, likely even managing to have everyone else in this planet hear it.
Speaking of which...
Fries gasps and takes a frightened step backward, "Puffball... What's wrong with you?! That smile... it's..."
Puffball smiles widely, staring at Fries for approximately four seconds before lunging at him, biting into his arm.
"OW!" Fries screams, stumbling away. He looks down at his arm, a fresh bite mark forming. He feels his eyes fill with tears, turning his body all soggy. "Puffball," He cries, "What happened to you?!"
Puffball smiles, and in her innocent, melodic voice, she speaks, "Golfball did. She happened. Now I'm better, and you can be too!"
Freies staggers backward, connecting the dots. Puffball... isn't herself anymore. And Golfball did that to her. Oh, he could just bash Golfball's head in! How dare she take his best friend away?!
Before she can try anything else, Fries runs away from her in tears, to tell his group about his findings.
Further away, tucked further in the forest, is a group of objects who had only just seen Book slip away to do.. something..
"Where'd Book go?" Lightning asks Tree to which he shrugs.
"I dunno, beats me," Tree comments.
Fries runs back to his group, gaining no more than a "Hey-" from Pen before the sound of a gunshot rings throughout the air.
The sound rings in Fries' ears, making him cry more and clutch the sides of his head.
"Fries!" Black Hole gasps, "Are you alright?" He hovers a few inches closer, "You're crying..."
"Puffball," Fries sniffs, "She... she isn't herself anymore!" He bursts into tears again, sinking to his knees. He weeps into his hands, "I lost a friend..."
Tree pats Fries' shoulder, "We all have, Fries. We all have lost our loved to Golfball and the other horrible monsters here," Tree sighs, "Oh Pie... I miss her... And Bottle..."
Tree sniffs back tears, "I can't believe it's only been... What? A few months? Feels like way longer..."
"Wait, guys," Lightning questions, "Wasn't Remote here? And Gelatin? and along those lines... WHAT WAS THAT SOUND?!"
