Sriya's world crumbled into pieces seeing the note.
"Listen to me carefully, Sriya. Don't panic." Keshava patted her shoulders.
"Seriously?? My sister is captured by the mafia and you're asking me not to panic?" She held the handkerchief tightly.
"We will essentially be falling into their hands and all this effort will be wasted. Let us handle this. Your sister will come out safely. Stop panicking."
"Easy for you to say. It isn't your sister who is being threatened."
Sriya ran her hands through her hair.
"At least try to consider his words. He has known the mafia for long." Suparn suggested to Sriya. She scoffed at it. Why wouldn't the brother support his cousin?
Keshava held her shoulders and made her sit, "I know the mafia really well, Sriya. I know how to handle them. I know how to tackle kidnappings. I have already rescued several girls from their grasp. Trust me when I'm saying that if we panic and give in to them, this is only going to get messier."
"My sister is captured and you want me to sit and wait for someone to try and rescue her while she is in trouble?"
"Me. Not someone. I'll get her out."
Sriya almost felt like breaking down. Revati was her responsibility. She's just 20 years old, she must be so scared all by herself being kidnapped by horrible people. No idea what could happen to her. She held her head in worry.
Keshava kneeled before her and held her hands, "Trust me, Sriya. I will save her. I will bring her safe but all of our efforts to hide so far and keep you safe will go to waste if you kneel before them now. Don't buckle into pressure. That is what they want to do. They hit where it is weak to test you. This is when we need to show strength. Be critical and logical."
Sriya looked at him. Why was she supposed to trust him so much? She has always relied on herself for everything. She was the Queen of her Kingdom. Now, she had to wait for some knight to get her out of a spot and she didn't like it much.
"Okay. I want my sister back. I don't care what you do."
"I know. I will get her." He turned to Suparn, "You stay here and make sure no one gets to her. I'll go get Revati."
"Yes."
Keshava left soon, already on the phone with Kamakshi and Adisesh. Sriya looked at the handkerchief.
Sriya closed her eyes and involuntarily, she began to cry. If anything happened to Revati, she would always regret her decisions. For a little money and her own life, she let Revati be hurt. Revati was her darling sister. The sister who has so much potential in herself.
"Don't worry. Keshava won't ever let anything happen to Revati. Just have faith in him. He has never let anyone down. He won't let you down." Suparn held her hand and assured her.
"I don't know, Suparn. She is my little sister. She is so young that I don't know how she will be able to get out of it. She will be so scared. She is alone with no one to assure her." Sriya cried, "I was foolish enough not to think that she could be endangered."
Suparn was unnerved by her crying. He couldn't see her sad but he couldn't do anything. Keshava had ordered him to stay put or else he would have flown himself to find his goddess' beloved sister.
"Nothing will happen to Revati. Trust me. If Keshava has assured safety then no one can harm her."
Although Sriya nodded, the worry in her mind did not subside. She still stayed worried. She looked at the letter she received from them and then looked at the handkerchief.
"Can you get me some medicines, Suparn?" Sriya asked him.
"Of course. Do you want some for a headache?"
"Yes. Something of leg pain as well."
"I'll go get them."
He instantly picked up the keys to his bike and set out.
