Days Later
It's Friday evening and while Mahara is over at Harrison's house with Liz doing their online classes, I had Drake bring me the jewelry store. I know, I told myself to just get a necklace, but I couldn't help myself when I seen the engagement rings they had.
I've looked at almost all of them and I don't know which one I want to get. What if she doesn't like it?
"Is there anything you need help with sir? Perhaps I could help you pick something?" The salesman says pulling out another case of rings.
Damn it! I told myself a necklace!
He takes out a ring that's smaller, daintier, with a tear drop diamond in the middle. It's beautiful. All the other rings where big, balky, rings my baby girl wouldn't have liked, but this one? This is it.
"That one! Do you have a size six?" I ask pointing at the ring that I know my beautiful fiancé to be will love.
Mahara Bentley. Fuck yes! Jesus I can't wait to call her my wife. Wait. What if I'm moving too fast? What if she says no? Shit! No, she'll say yes. She has to.
The salesman waves his hand in front of my face getting my attention. "Sir, sorry you were kind of zoned out there." He says chuckling. "I was saying, we don't have this one in store in a size six, but if I order it today it should be here by Sunday after or Monday morning. Shall I put in the order?"
"Yes, and I'll pay extra if it can get here faster." I say taking out my card handing it to him.
"Of course sir, I'll let them know it's a time pressing situation." He says swiping my card then handing it back. "Anything else I can help you with?"
"Oh yeah! I need a necklace too, something small as well." I say almost forgetting the whole reason I came here.
He smiles picking out the perfect tear drop shaped diamond necklace, that'll match her ring perfectly, and wrapping it for me.

Walking out of the store I feel happier then I have in my entire life then I run into someone.
Smash!
"Shit!" I snap at the person.
"Larson?" She says.
"Oh, hey Emma. How are you holding up?" I say realizing who she is. Jeremy's sister.
"Not too good, I can't believe my brother would do something like this." She says sniffling. Please don't cry, I've always hated when people cried.
I don't mind it when Mahara does it though because I like comforting her. "I just can't believe Candice is gone." She says beginning to cry. Shit!
"I'm sorry to hear that Emma, I hope to see you at the funeral Sunday. I know she would've wanted you there." I say trying to give her a little comfort a part of me does feel bad for her.
The whole school basically hates her because of what happened, but it wasn't her, it's was Jeremy's.
"Thanks Larson, that's sweet of you to say. I don't want to make it harder in Candice's family you know?" She asks giving a sad smile.
"Well I know Liz would love to see you. Hey, I gotta go, but take care of yourself Emma."
"Yeah you too." She says waving goodbye.

Arriving to Harrison's beach styled house I put the necklace under my seat as Drake opens the door for me. Going inside I make my way to his kitchen where Liz and Mahara are sitting at the dining table working on their classes.
