Wherever You Are

Chapter 13

I woke up to the smell of my grandmas biscuits and Gravy which is the most amazing thing in the world she makes.

"Gosh this is so god." I walk in as I hear my brother Morgan say. 

"Where's pawpaw?" I say.

"He's working on the van." She says.

I eat all my food and I check Snapchat and Lee hasn't snapchated me since the day of school. Maybe he realized he didn't like me. That I'm not for him, he see's I'm poor and wants nothing to do with me. Just a piece of trash.

Later that day My grandma, Morgan, Taylor, and I went to a few yard sales like we always do and went to McDonald's. We arrived home and I stayed by my Tablet all day and I really thought he was gonna Snapchat me but he didn't I fell sleep waiting and I don't wait on any guy.

It was Sunday and I put on one of my skirts I have at my grandmas for church and I put my hair up and ate some cereal. Church was okay I don't really like it as much as I use to but we got a new preacher and he made me stop going to the gospel and I just stay for Sunday school and then walk home considering my neighbor is a church. The only reason why I go to church is because I need to help and protect my grandma. If anything ever happened to her idk what I would do.

"It was nice seeing you today Melissa. I hope you and your mom start going because it would be nice to see you guys. All of you guys." The pastor says.
I smile and just walk away.

When my Dad left my mom I started going to church and I prayed that he would come back but he's still gone. I don't know if he will ever come but I just gave up, now my grandma is my new inspiration.

I walk home in the rain and I enter the house and I smell pot. My eyes burn like fire getting thrown in my eyes. It feels like I'm crying but it's just the stinging from the pot. I close my door and light a candle and clean my room up because it looks like Ilean or Donna my younger sisters were in my room. A few minutes later my room is clean and I turn and watch ABC family because there is always good movies on Sunday.

I hear foot steps and I see Donalds shadow near my door but he doesn't notice me. I look at him and we runs down the hallway. He's so creepy. He's always spying on us kids and I don't feel comfortable at all.

My mom wakes up and I hear Donald run down the hallway again so I guess he was staring at me so I wouldn't notice him. A few minutes later I hear him calling for me.

"Melissa get in here." Donald says.

"What." I say.

"Don't back talk me. I want you to clean the bathroom while Taylor is cleaning the kitchen. Go now.

I walk into the bathroom and this intolerably smell hits me and I can barley hold my gagging back but I take control over it. I clean for hours and then finally finish. I'm too tired to clean so I lay down and fall asleep. Right when I wake up it's time for school and I really don't wanna go because Lee hasn't talked to me since last week.
