CH 12.

Katrina walked down into the basement to see all five boys asleep peacefully on the beds. She almost regrets what she was about to do. Almost, that is. She roughly awoke the boys by stripping the covers off the beds.

“WAKE THE HELL UP! I AM TRAINING YOU RIGHT NOW!” She yelled in her extremely loud voice which woke the boys up immediately.

“Christ almighty! Katrina! Must you wake us up?!” yelled out Louis from his bed.

“Yes! I am going to train you until you are perfectly capable of handling a double bladed sword” She retorted. The boys groaned and began to get up slowly. Katrina gasped when she saw their fresh scars on their backs.

“Oh, those are from Maria. She was giving us a hard time with edible plants and all that. No actual fighting” Zayn told her with a faint trace of anger.

“Yes, and if it wasn’t for her, you would be dead in the games if you eat the wrong plant” she fretted. She had intentions of pushing them until they perfected some sort of fighting with a weapon. They slowly got dressed and followed Katrina up the stairs.

“I had intentions on pushing you but seeing how on edge Maria is about training you to perfection, I better not risk it. I’m not saying I will be going easy.” Katrina warned.

“So… what exactly are we doing?” asked Harry.

“I will be teaching you hand to hand combat. Then, hopefully, afterwards, maybe Angel or Olivia will teach you the art of crafting weapons from nature. Then after that, lily will teach you how to fight with different weapons.” Katrina replied.

“There is no way we can perfect all of that in a few hours Katrina!” yelled out Louis in disbelief. She smiled at their shocked expressions.

“You will be perfect when you can beat me at physical combat.” She said and took them outside.

She trained them for over an hour before her sisters came back home, watching the boys in amusement as they tried to fight Katrina. When they had finally disarmed Katrina, she surrendered. The boys cheered in achievement. She laughed at their expressions.

“Don’t let it go to your ego! I can still kill you with my bare hands” she warned them. The boys nodded but they still had proudness written all over their faces.

“Kat, how long exactly have you been coaching them?” asked Maria in concern.

“About two hours perhaps” estimated Katrina with a shrug.

“They have talent in hand to hand combat” she whispered to Maria. Maria nodded in agreement.

“I just hope they are just as good when they start fighting with a weapon” Maria replied before she walked back into the house.

“Lily! Take over for Katrina, it’s time you taught them how to fight with a weapon” Katrina heard her sister yell out.

Lily took the boys slightly into the forest, only carrying a single tie and had five knives on her belt. They glistened in the evening light. She turned to face the boys who were looking at her with anticipation. She faced them as if she was the general in a war.

“In this training, there is to be no messing around. What I am going to show you requires patience and strength and accuracy, and I hope you will be able to achieve this before Angel comes and finds you and teaches you in the art of disarming weapons. After Angel, Olivia will come and take you and teach you in the art of making a weapon. You will learn more when we reach the Capitol itself if you are unfortunate to be picked.” Lily said to them, looking at them each in the eyes.
